About the Team:

Are you passionate about creating engaging gameplay experiences? Insomniac Games is seeking a talented Gameplay Programming Intern who is eager to use their programming skills to contribute to game development. If you're interested in pursuing a career in gameplay programming and want to learn the full scope of the development process, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Work on gameplay features which could include breakables, interactive objects, AI, stats, bonus features, trophies, visual effects, or general bug tracking/fixing
  • Be mentored by senior members of the Gameplay Programming team, with opportunities to build valuable industry connections.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Currently pursuing a BS/BSE in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Physics or Math majors with programming experience are also welcome.
  • Projected to graduate between December 2025 – June 2026.
  • Proficiency in C++ programming is required.
  • Ideal candidates are self-motivated, creative, responsible, and have a strong passion for video games and programming.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Available to work full-time during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th, 2025.
  • Must commit to the full 12-week internship duration.
  • Open to U.S. citizens or international students with F-1 visas.
  • Must be able to work on-site at our Burbank, CA office or fully remote (relocation assistance available for eligible candidates).

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
