📌 Interchain Inc (formerly, Skip) leads development for the Cosmos Hub, ecosystem, and stack -- the leading platform for building sovereign, interoperable blockchains. Our mission is to build a more free, more fair internet with the Cosmos platform at the core. The best teams already build with Cosmos across every category: defi (dYdX, Osmosis, Injective), infrastructure (Babylon, Celestia, Initia),  Depin/AI (Akash, Artificial Superintelligence Alliance, Allora), privacy (Nillion, Penumbra), and many more. We focus on hiring the core team and senior talent to work together in person in NYC to build a collaborative and supportive culture. But we’re still open to hiring best-in-class remote talent anywhere within 6 hours of the NYC timezone.

About the Role

In a nutshell, we expect our People & HR Lead to bring in world-class talent, keep them around, and foster their growth. 

The People & HR Lead will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Interchain organization’s human resources strategy, policies, and practices to support our mission and goals. 

This role requires you to think proactively about complex human challenges. We’re looking for someone who has a proven roll-up-your-sleeves mentality and is comfortable wearing many hats (recruiter, comp specialist, coach, conflict resolver) and not an empire builder who is trying to hire a team from the start. You will continually assess and anticipate business needs to create a sustainable and innovative support model for business growth and employee engagement.

To do that, we expect and enable you to prioritize ruthlessly and test, iterate, and ship quickly to drive business results. We will set you up for success with clarity, immediate feedback, and radical candor. 

You will be pivotal in shaping a thriving work environment, organization design, employee success, and retention. 

Responsibilities

  • Making the Interchain organization a great place to work from an employee’s first day with us through culture design, smooth processes, clear policies, communication, and support systems. 
  • Recruiting world-class talent with support from our team leads & admin staff, and the external recruiters. 
  • Owning and managing the implementation of our People strategies, including talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, and performance management. 
  • Representing HR to the leadership team, ensuring that HR perspectives are considered in all decisions and initiatives.
  • Maintaining global compliance. 

What you can Offer

Required: 

  • Experience in leading and growing the people function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and overall communication skills, with exceptional and proven active listening ability.
  • Understanding of employment law, especially in the US and Germany, compensation, benefits, organizational development, and training & development.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Based in a CET time zone, with availability from 9AM EST -  1PM EST, and the ability to make yourself available to accommodate PST employees as needed.
  • Occasional travels to company events and to our offices are required. 

Bonus: 

  • 8+ years prior relevant experience in HR/people & talent, preferably in fast-growing start-ups.
  • Experience making decisions ethically and rationally using data and logic. 
  • Proven ability to work in ambiguity and anticipate challenges and solutions before they arise.
