
Solutions Engineering GIS Specialist Intern (Summer/May 2026, 4 Months)

As a Solutions Engineering GIS Specialist Intern, you will become familiar with all areas of the Geotab product suite, and contribute to pre-sales opportunities at all technical levels. You will be engaged from the start on exciting new opportunities and challenges to expand Geotab’s footprint in the telematics industry. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for assisting the Geotab Sales team in pre-sales opportunities, running product pilots, and managing special strategic projects as required.
What you'll do:
You will leverage your knowledge in all aspects of the Geotab product suite to devise and build solutions to exceed end user expectations. This role will also support requests for both software and hardware product integrations. To be successful in this position, you will be a strong multi-tasker with excellent time management skills to properly monitor and prioritize various projects. You will work alongside the Sales, Software Development, Embedded Systems, Engineering Support, and Partner Account Management teams.
The opportunity:
- 4 month work-term beginning May 2026.

How you'll make an impact:
- Assist the team in identifying methods to expand our use of geospatial data within the system.
- Develop proof of concepts to analyze and address client environmental impacts related to Winter Maintenance activities.
- Assist the team in pilot programs for new potential customers.
- Participate in engineering product and integration projects.
- Learn and maintain technical knowledge of the Geotab ecosystem.
- Support end-user requirements in special projects.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining new Geotab products.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Completing a University degree in Geography, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills, as well as a willingness to learn and strong work ethic.
- Experience with Esri ArcGIS, QGIS and/or other GIS Applications is required.
- Knowledge of various map publishing and hosting methods is an asset.
- Technical experience using SQL, C#, JavaScript or Google BigQuery is an asset.
- Passion for technology and innovation.
- Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines in a team environment.

The actual pay for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to student's academic program, relevant experience, and location.
