Accounting Supervisor
BROAD FUNCTION: Responsible for ensuring accounting services to customers are completed timely and accurately adhering to deadlines set by corporate and service level agreements with the agencies. This includes inter-company matching, account reconciliations, journal entry postings and ad hoc requests on the general ledger systems. Assists the Financial Accounting Manager and various other personnel with special projects or unique assignments. This position may also assist in other accounting areas as needed. Work hours for this position are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide overall accounting support for the agencies using Shared Services.
- Ensure intercompany tasks are completed.
- Prepare / review monthly variance analysis / commentaries.
- Prepare / review journal entries for areas of responsibility.
- Prepare / review account reconciliations and analysis, ensuring balances are properly stated.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly closing schedules.
- Provide accurate and timely month-end reporting and ad hoc reporting.
- Supervise and provide leadership to team.
- Assist external office personnel with questions relating to systems and processes maintained by Shared Services.
- Provide accounting support and query resolution to many levels of local office personnel.
- Liaise with other internal departments to resolve issues.
- Provide answers and information to external/internal auditors for areas of responsibility.
- Provide clear and timely communication, both internally and externally.
- Regular and reliable attendance required
- Ability to work onsite in an office environment with limited remote work alternatives, consistent with applicable law
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
- One to three years of supervisory experience desired.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills required.
- Possess the ability to successfully interface with other internal departments and external customers.
- Requires attention to detail with the ability to delegate, educate and prioritize.
- Requires substantial personal computer skills and the ability to learn multiple systems.
