We are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented Senior Data Visualization Specialist to join our Healthcare Data Analytics team. In this role, you will transform complex healthcare data into compelling visual narratives to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate closely with your Interwell Health colleagues and stakeholders to understand analytical needs, design engaging visual solutions, and deliver insights through storytelling. Your expertise will enhance how we interpret, present, and act on healthcare data, making your work crucial in translating analytics into impactful visual communication.

What you'll do:

  • Design and Develop Visualizations: Create advanced data visualizations and dashboards that translate complex data into actionable insights. Leverage industry-leading tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent visualization software to present key findings.
  • Lead Visualization Strategy: Act as a thought leader in data visualization by shaping the team’s approach to visual storytelling and presentation. Guide the selection of visualization tools, methods, and frameworks that best serve the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Data Storytelling: Build visual narratives that clearly communicate business insights, using design and layout principles to optimize clarity and engagement for diverse audiences.
  • Stakeholder Partnership and Influence: Engage with senior stakeholders to understand business needs at a strategic level, translating high-level requirements into actionable data visualization solutions that drive business impact. Advocate for data-driven decision-making by educating and empowering stakeholders to use visual insights effectively.
  • Ensure High Standards and Consistency: Set and maintain quality standards for the team’s visualization work, conducting in-depth code reviews, offering constructive feedback, and ensuring alignment with organizational standards and goals.
  • Proactively Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Independently seek out opportunities to improve data visualization processes, tools, and techniques. This includes optimizing dashboard performance, enhancing user experience, and exploring new data visualization innovations.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Mentoring: Lead team sessions on best practices in data visualization, share advanced techniques with colleagues, and contribute to the team’s visualization knowledge base.

What you’ll need:

  • 5+ years of experience in data visualization, business intelligence, or data analytics, with demonstrated experience leading projects and influencing decision-making within an organization.
  • Advanced expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and deep proficiency in SQL for complex data manipulation, ETL, and optimization of visualizations.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to align visualizations with broader organizational goals and to anticipate stakeholder needs.
  • Experience in mentoring and training junior team members, with a strong commitment to knowledge sharing and team development.
  • Leadership in design and data visualization standards, including the ability to create guidelines for visual consistency, accuracy, and accessibility across all visualizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build consensus at senior levels, representing data visualization as a key driver of business insights.
