Job Description

The Controller reports directly to the CFO and leads Irely’s global financial administrative functions. This role is primarily responsible for controlling and reporting on Irely’s financials, ensuring accuracy and ownership of the numbers. The Controller must have a clear understanding of both internal and board-level reporting requirements. Additionally, they will serve as the primary representative for all administrative matters, establishing and enforcing proper processes and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Major Responsibilities

The Controller serves in multiple facets in the organization.  Major responsibilities can be summarized and include the following:

Reporting

  • Monthly Reporting
  • Monthly Internal Reporting Package
  • Annual Budgeting
  • Estimate Reporting
  • Year End Reporting (for insurance, tax firm, and internal)
  • Group Company Reporting Needs
  • Requested real-time reports needed by CFO

 Accounting

  •  Reconciliations
  • AP Function (Voucher, Checks/ACH, Positive Pay, etc.)
  • Cash Management Function (Bank management, Bank Recon)
  • AR Function (contract review for updates, licensing, invoicing, collections, etc.)

 Admin

 Manage co-worker credit card and issues when needed

  • Sales Tax Returns
  • Property Support
  • Update the iRely system for services, licensing, etc.

 HR/Payroll

  •  Overseeing all HR/Payroll functions with support from Group company
  • Holiday Planning
  • Commission management / Commission calculation / Commission Schedule
  • Payroll Approval / Review

 Management/Leadership

  • Manage multiple admin offices in our primary offices.
  • Manage up to 8 direct reports, local and internationally
  • Ensure, establish and enforce consistency and adherence to company policy/practice
  • Work with other leaders in the org to ensure the iRely system is supporting each role properly.
  • Weekly meetings with direct reports

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting.
  • US CPA Certification a plus
  • 2-3 Years in Accounting and Financials 
  • 3 to 5 Years’ experience performing in controller type position
  • Managing/Hire/Fire responsibility in admin type role

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working both as an individual and leading a team
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of accounting principles
  • Excellent interpersonal acumen and executive presence, including written, verbal, and presentation skills; exceptional critical thinking ability to break down complex problems, identify root causes, and develop systemic solutions
  • Proven experience in developing and leading high-performing global teams and cross-functional initiatives; strong digital acumen related to accounting, financial reporting processes, and automation technologies.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and applying mathematical concepts to real-world business scenarios.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Suite, and financial management software for accurate reporting and data analysis.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
