Position Title:  Global Program Manager

Department: Portfolio & Program Management

Reports To:  VP, Head of PPM

 

Job Overview

The Global Program Manager (GPM) will support a Global Program Team to manage all aspects of product lifecycle, from pre-clinical to commercial.  The GMP will partner closely with the Program Lead to create a cross-functional program strategy encompassing clinical, regulatory and CMC. In addition to driving cross-functional strategic planning, the GPM will develop integrated program timelines, drive execution, and be accountable for risk management, resource management, and decision-making/governance for their program. The GPM may also provide support to functional sub-teams, as needed, to ensure strong execution and adherence to timelines. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across functions and at all levels of the organization and is able to think strategically while also managing tactical operational details. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are critical.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with Program Lead to set agendas and manage program team meetings to drive project progress and goal achievement
  • Partner with cross-functional team members to develop functional timelines, as well as and integrated program timeline, to achieve program goals
  • Maintain updated timelines with an eye to critical-path items and opportunities for optimization
  • Develop and manage a risk register, partnering with team members to create mitigation strategies and escalate, as appropriate, in a timely manner
  • Clearly communicate program status, progress, and risks to ensure alignment between the program team and key stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Partner with the Program Lead to develop clear, comprehensive recommendations as needed to support governance and decision-making
  • Partner with the Program Lead to develop and monitor program budgets
  • Support alliance management, as appropriate, to maintain strong partnerships and ensure program goals are met
  • Partner with the VP of Portfolio & Program Management to continually evolve best practices, seeking cross-functional input and communicating best practices across the org

 

Qualifications and Preferred Skills

  • Strong project management experience and management skills; ability to lead workstreams and cross-functional teams, while also delivering on the work
  • Strong strategic and technical understanding; ability to anticipate operational issues and risks, and to proactively recommend mitigations and solutions
  • Strong initiative/self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset and demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams, timelines, milestones and performance objectives, while identifying and implementing improvements
  • Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to consistently deliver high quality output
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; comfortable interacting and communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong sense of resilience and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic, start-up environment
  • Flexibility to travel as needed
  • BS or MS in Biochemistry, or related field, PMP certified preferred
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience with a focus on cross-functional project/program management
  • Extensive knowledge of the drug development process, including stages of development and the role of different functions

 

Exact Compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location.

Pay range

$183,000 - $260,000 USD
