Job Overview
Kardigan is looking for a dedicated and experienced analytical leader to support the company’s growth toward becoming a global, multi-product commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company. The Clinical Data Scientist will play a critical role in developing and implementing advanced data visualization tools, building and maintaining robust databases, and supporting clinical studies through sophisticated data analysis and trial simulations. Your expertise in machine learning, AI, and innovative trial designs will be essential in driving our clinical development programs forward. This role will closely collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical operations, data management, biostatistics, statistical programming, IT, medical monitoring, and translational research. This role is an individual contributor position with the potential to grow into a management role as the team expands.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive data visualization packages to support clinical trial monitoring, including detecting data errors, anomalies, evaluating site performance, and predicting patient withdrawal risks or safety risks.
- Design a database structure to support integrated analysis across multiple programs.
- Perform data analysis on existing studies to gain insights for research or future study design. Facilitate seamless data analysis sharing with the translational research team.
- Perform trial simulations to evaluate trial performance and inform the study team for operations planning.
- Author SAP and oversee the internal/external programming team for the TFL deliveries.
- Stay abreast of the latest technologies and advancements in data analysis, including machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Implement innovative solutions to enhance clinical data analysis and visualization, including data analysis of digital health data, EMR, RWD.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of innovative trial designs and methodologies.
- Serve as a consultant across various company functions, providing expertise in methodological research and education.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Data Science, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in clinical data analysis, with a strong background in developing data visualization tools.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SAS.
- Expertise in machine learning, AI, and other advanced analytical techniques.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial design and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work closely with various cross-functional teams.
- Experience in overseeing external vendors is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment and manage multiple priorities.
Exact Compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location.
Pay range
$160,000 - $200,000 USD
