Location: Skowhegan, Maine
Time Commitment: approximately 32-40 hours
Anticipated Schedule: Dependent on business needs, flexibility to work on weekends and holidays is required
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join the property at The Skowhegan. In this role, you will ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the property, contributing to an outstanding guest experience. The ideal candidate has a passion for Hospitality and experience in maintaining a safe and pristine environment. This role involves cleaning guest rooms, resident common areas, and other assigned spaces while interacting with guests and building residents in a friendly and professional manner when needed.
Day in the life of a Housekeeper
As a Housekeeper, your primary responsibility is to ensure cleanliness and orderliness throughout the hotel and residential portions of the Skowhegan property. While each day may vary, your role will typically include cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, common areas, and other designated spaces. You’ll follow established cleaning standards to provide a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for guests.
You’ll also handle tasks such as replenishing supplies, reporting maintenance issues, and assisting with laundry duties. This role is hands-on and requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain guest rooms, public areas, and other designated spaces to ensure high cleanliness standards.
- Restock supplies, linens, and amenities in guest rooms and common areas.
- Ensure all unit technology is charged and operating correctly
- Complete occasional guest facing tasks as needed
- Handle laundry tasks, including washing, drying, folding, and storing linens as needed.
- Report maintenance issues or damages promptly to ensure quick resolution.
- Follow established cleaning protocols and safety guidelines.
- Assist with special cleaning projects or deep cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Interact with guests & residents professionally to address requests, provide information, or resolve minor concerns.
- Support other housekeeping team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Uphold a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Experience
- 1+ years of housekeeping experience in a hotel or similar hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning processes, equipment, and safety standards.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Comfortable standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 25-50 pounds for extended periods.
