Keeley Construction is looking to hire an Assistant Superintendent to join our team in Austin, TX. We welcome entry-level candidates who are eager to build a career in construction and learn from experienced field leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Superintendent in planning, coordinating, and executing water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects.
- Support daily jobsite operations, including subcontractor coordination, crew activities, material deliveries, equipment usage, and site logistics.
- Assist with utility installations, process piping, mechanical systems, and equipment setting.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to support project schedules, manpower planning, production goals, and work sequencing.
- Monitor daily field activities and help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with quality standards.
- Serve as a field representative of Keeley Construction, interacting professionally with clients, inspectors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents to support field execution.
- Promote and enforce Keeley Construction's safety culture and OSHA regulations.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, inspections, and jobsite hazard assessments.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and project documentation.
- Support the procurement, delivery, and inventory control of project materials and equipment.
- Assist with startup, testing, punch list, and project closeout activities.
- Foster a positive and productive jobsite environment while demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; 1–3 years of construction experience is preferred.
- Experience in civil construction, utilities, concrete, or water/wastewater projects is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong interest in construction operations and field leadership.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 30 certification and Procore experience are a plus.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to travel to project sites 3–4 days per week as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical jobsite duties.
