Payroll Specialist

We are looking to hire a Payroll Specialist for our Corporate Headquarters in St. Louis, MO. The Payroll Specialist is a professional responsible for managing the payroll processes within an organization. Their primary role is to ensure that employees are accurately compensated for their work, including wages, salaries, bonuses, and benefits, in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing weekly certified payroll on required customer and standard forms. 
  • Assist with collective bargaining monthly reporting & reconciliation. 
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to payroll. 
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including wage rates, taxes and benefit deductions. 
  • Conduct routine time and payroll record audits to ensure accuracy. 
  • Assist in calculating and processing layoff/termination checks. 
  • Process payroll for multiple companies 
  • Monitor and respond to employee inquiries 
  • Support year-end payroll reporting and tax documentation as needed. 
  • Analyze garnishment orders, setup deductions, and process weekly payments 

 Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience preferred in related field.  
  • Associates in accounting or business-related field preferred. 
  • Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.  
  • Communicate effectively both orally and through writing and work cooperatively in a fast paced, diverse team environment. 
  • Experience with CMiC 
  • Familiarity of multi-state tax regulations 
  • Experience with multi-craft unions a plus 
  • Experience with UKG is beneficial
