Essential Job Functions:

 

You will be responsible to operate grinding CNC equipment, during start up, responsibilities could also extend to other functions as required. 

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly system checks as required by internal & external policies and procedures.
  • Maintain inspection and test logs.
  • Have proven knowledge to set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests, and to interpret, evaluate and document results in accordance with the Quality department procedures.
  • Operate and maintain FPI testing equipment.
  • Examines and tests material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds.
  • Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, and IDR.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly system checks as required by internal & external policies and procedures in order to ensure that the facility is properly performing the FPI process.
  • Prepare written instructions for methods and techniques and writes customer reports as needed.
  • Designate methods and techniques to be used, including appropriate sequence of operations in process for applicable part.
  • Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, and IDR.
  • Assures that records, as required for system controls are maintained, including inspection and test logs.
  • Determines the extent of refresher training.
  • Prepares for and participates in customer audits, work reviews and/or spot checks.
  • Maintains customer contact with FPI/NDT authorizing agent at customer.
  • Respond to audit findings in timely manner.
  • Examines and tests material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds.
  • Compares product with parts list, drawings, blueprints, customer specifications and/or sample model to ensure completion of assembly.
  • Stamps mark of approval or rejection on product and writes report of examinations.
  • Keep work area clean at all times (5 S's).
  • Support related process in Special Process area such as Heat Treat area and Shot Peening.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Has developed knowledge and skills through training or considerable work experience
  • Works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision
  • Identifies the problem and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures, and makes sound decisions.

·         Ability to read blueprints / work instructions

·         Good oral and written communications skills;

·         Comfortable in a small-company environment;

·         Familiarity with Microsoft applications and manufacturing software.

Education and Experience:

  • Candidates must be capable of qualification in Penetrant Inspection IAW NAS 410 Rev. 5
  • A technical associates' or Bachelor's degree is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2-5 years of demonstrated experience for Level 2 FPI Inspector.
  • Skills and knowledge to set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests, and to interpret, evaluate, and document results in accordance with procedures.
  • Organizing and documenting NDT results. Familiar with codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method being used by the employer.
  • Vision Acuity, Appropriate certification as required by customers. Minimum five years’ experience of dimensional tolerance inspection (Y14.5) of aerospace products.
  • The individual shall be familiar with codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method being used by the employer.
