The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Manager, Security & Transportation Integration:
The Security and Transportation Integration Manager will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and overseeing the integration of security protocols within LA28’s comprehensive transportation network. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who can work collaboratively with multiple agencies and stakeholders to ensure the highest levels of security and operational efficiency during the Games. The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills. This position reports to the Director of Security Planning & Integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning & Integration: Develop and execute an integrated strategy that aligns transportation operations with robust security protocols. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners (law enforcement, transportation authorities, emergency services, and private vendors) to create a unified security and transportation framework. Serve as the Security liaison for road event planning and manage the public safety role in the road events operations center during games time.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Contribute to risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in the transportation network and propose effective mitigation strategies. Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as international best practices for event security.
- Operational Coordination: Oversee the integration of security with transportation data systems and technology with transportation operations, ensuring real-time communication and rapid response capabilities. Lead the development and implementation of contingency and emergency response plans related to transportation security.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between security and transportation teams, fostering collaboration and information-sharing. Manage relationships with external partners, including law enforcement agencies, regulatory entities, state/regional traffic management organizations, and service providers.
- Project Management: Manage cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of integration milestones ensuring Safety & Security equities are included.
Background & Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in a safety/security position in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in traffic management, traffic incident management systems (TIMS) and event-based traffic planning.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) and Esri ArcGIS.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
- Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- The position is located in Los Angeles with in-person attendance required.
- The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment, employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
- Occasionally there may be a requirement for working hours outside of traditional business hours/days to support special events, travel, and the 2028 Games.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Emergency Management, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications or specialized training in Project Management, Microsoft Office Suite tools, and/or Smartsheets preferred.
Expectations:
- Experience supporting transportation related projects is preferred.
- Experience working with the federal, state or local government is preferred.
- Experience in event planning or large-scale project management is preferred.
- Passion for sports, community engagement, or involvement in large-scale events.

The annual base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $105,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
