Permit Associate
The Permit Associate will support LA28’s venue infrastructure team in securing, managing, and maintaining all necessary permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals for Olympic and Paralympic venues. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while facilitating smooth operations and construction activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in navigating complex regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in obtaining and renewing permits, licenses, and approvals required for construction, operations, and special events at LA28 venues.
- Maintain accurate records of all permit documentation and ensure timely renewals.
- Coordinate with city, county, and state agencies to ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
- Support Sr. Permit Manager in tracking permit deadlines, submissions, and approvals.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing permit status and compliance issues for management.
- Collaborate with venue operations, construction, and facilities teams to identify permit needs for upcoming projects.
- Monitor regulatory changes and provide recommendations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal teams and external authorities regarding permit-related inquiries.
Background & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of local and state permitting requirements, building codes, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office
- The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
- The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
- Site visits requiring movement around varying environmental conditions in interior and exterior spaces
Position Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.Minimum 3+years of experience in permit management, facilities, or construction administration.

The annual base salary range for this position is $69,000 - $75,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
