The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Sr. Manager, Testing & Readiness

The Senior Manager, Testing and Readiness, reporting to the Senior Director, Venue Development, will be responsible for delivering the department's testing and readiness activities. Coordinating across architecture, engineering and program management teams, this role is responsible for progressing the planning as it relates to test events, readiness activities and assessing and actioning the risk management strategy as it relates to testing.

This role will:

  • Lead the VNI efforts on testing and readiness for testing activities as it relates to infrastructure. Participate in planning meetings, feasibility studies and coordinate across VNI for testing requirements.
  • Analyze and consider required testing activities for high-risk infrastructure activities.
  • Create policies and procedures related to testing and readiness of temporary infrastructure.
  • Endure alignment across the department on testing activities and meeting of milestones.
  • Lead readiness planning across VNI for the development of Operation Center requirements and communications structures

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Testing and Readiness Activities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive testing and readiness plans for venue infrastructure, including temporary and overlay components.
  • Drive risk-based prioritization for high-risk infrastructure activities, ensuring robust testing and mitigation strategies.
  • Create and implement policies and procedures related to the testing and readiness of temporary infrastructure systems and components.
  • Ensure that all testing activities comply with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support VNI on delivery planning for testing activities
  • Lead readiness planning for VNI’s delivery of infrastructure

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (architecture, engineering, program management) to align schedules, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Act as the central point of contact for testing and readiness coordination across the Venue Infrastructure team.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on infrastructure testing requirements, schedules, and priorities.

Milestone and Risk Management

  • Track relevant milestones and ensure timely delivery of infrastructure testing activities.
  • Identify and address risks proactively, ensuring that contingency and mitigation plans are in place.

Background & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7+ years experience in infrastructure testing, event readiness, large-scale venue development, or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in complex, high-pressure environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight timelines.
  • Strong knowledge of temporary infrastructure and event overlay

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office
  • Majority of the work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment
  • Ability to travel occasionally to different venues across the Los Angeles region and possibly outside the Greater Los Angeles region.
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and work experience is preferred.

The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000.00 - $130,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
