Legend Biotech is seeking a Senior Scientist as part of the Research and Early Development team based in Piscataway, NJ.
Role Overview
Legend Biotechnology is at the forefront of developing innovative cell-based therapies. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic senior scientist to support our in vivo CAR-T cell therapy program. If you're passionate about advancing groundbreaking treatments and have a strong background in cellular immunotherapy, this role is for you. The successful candidate should possess extensive knowledge and research experience in virology, molecular biology, in CAR-T cell engineering. The candidate should have comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience of LVV engineering. The candidate will be able to contribute to developing in vivo cell therapy platform through lentivirus vector design, in vitro function assay, and assay development of virus PK and PD in animal model. 2-3 year biotech or pharmaceutical industry or postdoc experience is preferred.
You will collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams, including research, development, and manufacturing, to drive the successful translation of preclinical findings into clinical applications. Your expertise will be critical in advancing our mission to improve patient outcomes. The candidate needs to demonstrate the ability of delivering scientific results with integrity and meeting timeline, show the value of collaboration and teamwork, and provide expertise and team support in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
- Develop cell and gene therapy platform and optimize cell-based immunoassays, including vector design, virus packaging and titering, immune cell isolation and expansion, multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, cytotoxic assays, VCN analysis.
- Design experiment to test different designs to deliver reliable and consistent data
- Animal study experience with mice, dog and NHP is a plus
- Independently design and execute experiments, document and interpret scientific results, present the data to cross-functional teams
- Stay alert to industry development, good sense of new tech/platform in the field
- Deliver result to meet timeline with accountability
- Lab support work
Requirements
- Education: PhD in virology /Immunology / cell biology, or master with extensive experience.
- Experience: >2 years’ post-graduate experience in virology and human immunology, 2-3 years of industry experience in cell and gene therapy is preferred.
- Key Capabilities, Knowledge, and Skills: Molecular biology, vector design, gene-editing, animal model.
