Legend Biotech entered into a global collaboration agreement with Janssen, one of the pharmaceutical companies of Johnson & Johnson, to jointly develop and commercialize ciltacabtagene autolecuel (cilta-cel). Our strategic partnership is designed to combine the strengths and expertise of both companies to advance the promise of an immunotherapy in the treatment of multiple myeloma.

 

Legend Biotech is seeking a Warehouse and Logistics Manager as part of the Facilities & Engineering team based in Somerset, NJ.

Role Overview

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager will be responsible for the ongoing site ramp-up, daily operational management, as well as continuous improvement of Warehouse and Planning operations within the Somerset Site as well as other Legend USA Pipeline and Corporate locations. This individual will partner with the direct functions at each site to support their operations in respect to Planning, Inventory management and Delivery to both internal and external customers. This role supports both GxP and non-GxP functions. They must ensure that all GxP operations are fully compliant and that any operations for Non-GxP operations are managed in a way to ensure that GxP requirements are not compromised or infringed. This role is responsible for building and developing departmental capabilities for centralized inventory management for the site.
They develop, implement, maintain, and execute the processes, procedures, relationships, and systems required for Warehouse and logistics operations. They participate in defining the departmental objectives. Function as departmental representative and subject matter expert on cross functional teams to ensure departmental input and requirements are represented for new initiatives or changes. Participate in strategic discussions involving departmental growth, departmental scope of control and budgetary planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, coach, and develop an effective Warehouse and logistics team responsible for all inbound, outbound, material receipt & inventory management, and distribution processes for consumables, raw materials, samples and final drug products.
  • Establish a strong relationship between the different teams of the department by identifying clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Participate in governances structure design, decision-making process, as well as performance management and initiatives related to the continuous improvement of the warehouse operations.
  • Responsible for hiring, development, and performance management of staff within the warehouse as well as the establishment of key performance indicators
  • Responsible for management of warehouse budget inclusive but not limited to headcount, materials, consumables and services.
  • Serve as BPO of the S4 HANA EWM environment to represent the Warehouse & Operations business requirements and accuracy of inventory, processes and document track. Support implementation of improvement projects to the EWM environment.
  • Support the treatment and on time closure of deviations, Quality investigations and CAPA’s related to operational activities. Ensure good CAPA effectiveness checks to keep standards on day-to-day activities and avoid recurrences.
  • Accountable for ensuring departmental compliance with respect to GXP, quality, training, EHS, security requirements. Develop solutions to enhance quality, efficiency, capacity, safety and security.
  • Participate in or coordinate projects that involve operations (e.g. material flow, material management, personnel flow, continuous improvement)
  • Develop and integrate strategic inventory management planning at a site level.
  • Interact with key site stakeholders, on activities linked to warehouse and Logistics functions.
  • Have the authority to make all operational decisions for the department. They will provide input to strategic planning and budget development for the department. 

Requirements

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related equivalent field experience required.
  • 10+ years relevant Supply chain experience is required.
  • 3+ Years as a manager.
  • 3+ years in a GMP environment.
  • Experience in Pharma or Biologics Supply Chain is highly preferred.
  • SAP and EWM experience is preferred.
  • APICS certification is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and successfully, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, integrate cross-functional issues and balance competing priorities effectively. Must be able to manage shifting priorities to meet critical deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic, growing environment.
  • Strength in communicating and working effectively with broad stakeholders in various scientific/technical/business disciplines.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills and the ability to lead as a change agent to promote flexibility, creativity, and accountability.
  • Very strong influencing capabilities with an ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and across different functions.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills with ability to influence and build strong working relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of warehouse, Inventory management and planning operations including best industry practices, application of principles, concepts, practices, standards, validation, and qualification within a cGXP environment
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems, and analytics
  • Ability to promote a mindset of continuous improvement, problem solving, and prevention.
  • Technical writing for GxP documents: Policies, procedures, Work Instructions, Deviations, CAPA’s etc.

The base pay range below is what Legend Biotech USA Inc. reasonably expects to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location. The company reserves the right to modify this range as needed and in accordance with applicable laws.

Other Types of Pay: Performance-based bonus and/or equity is available to employees in eligible roles.

Pay Range (Base Pay):

$107,482 - $141,070 USD

Please note: These benefits are offered exclusively to permanent full-time employees. Contractors are not eligible for benefits through Legend Biotech.

  1. Access to Company Confidential Information. I acknowledge that for the sole and limited purpose of evaluating a possible employment relationship with me, the Company might disclose, or enable me to have access to, certain Confidential Information of the Company, as defined below.  I agree that, except for purposes of evaluating a possible employment relationship with the Company or as expressly authorized in writing by the Company, I will (a) not use or disclose any Confidential Information; (b) keep all Confidential Information confidential at all times; and (c) not copy, reproduce or modify any Confidential Information.
  2. Definition of “Confidential Information.” For purposes of this Agreement, “Confidential Information” shall mean any and all information and materials provided to me by the Company, including without limitation, inventions, trade secrets, software code, product development and marketing strategies, ideas, processes, formulas, know-how, unpublished financial information, business plans, contractual relationships with third parties and operating strategies; memoranda, notes, records, drawings, manuals, disks, or other documents and media; and all embodiments, copies, extracts, and summaries thereof; provided, however, that “Confidential Information” shall not include information that: (a) is generally known or available to the public, or (b) is furnished to me by a third party who obtained such information using lawful means and without any restrictions on disclosure.
  3. Third Party Information. I agree that during the course of communications with the Company pursuant to this Agreement or in connection with my application and interviews for employment with the Company, I will not make any unauthorized use or disclosure to the Company of any confidential or proprietary information or trade secrets of any other person or entity to whom I have an obligation of confidentiality with respect to such information, including any current or former employer.  I further agree not to provide to the Company any materials or documents of any third party that are not generally available to the public.
  4. Remedies for Breach. I acknowledge that in the event of any breach of this Agreement, the Company will not have an adequate remedy in money or damages, and therefore the Company shall be entitled to obtain temporary, preliminary and/or permanent injunctive relief to redress any such breach, from any court of competent jurisdiction, and that the Company’s right to obtain such relief shall not limit its right to obtain other available remedies.
  5. General. The interpretation and enforcement of this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California.  This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties concerning the subject matters hereof; it supersedes any and all prior agreements or representations, written or oral, with respect to its subject matters; and it cannot be modified except in a written agreement signed by the Company.
