Summary

The Supply Chain Management Planning Manager will be a key member of the SCM team, responsible for supporting the development and execution of supply chain management plans and initiatives. This role will contribute to optimizing LG Electronics USA's supply chain operations by assisting in demand planning, inventory management, budgeting, cost analysis, and performance tracking. The Manager will collaborate with various internal departments and external partners to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain processes.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Work under the guidance of the Senior Manager, receiving direction and support in daily tasks. Work will be reviewed regularly to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with overall plans and objectives.
  • Prepare weekly reports on inventory levels and potential stockouts, communicating this information to the production planning team to ensure timely adjustments to production schedules.
  • Have some latitude in making decisions related to their assigned tasks, but will generally consult with the Senior Manager on significant decisions or changes to established procedures.
  • Decide how to organize and prioritize daily tasks to meet deadlines, but needs to consult with the Senior Manager before making changes to the inventory tracking system.
  • Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of LG Electronics USA's supply chain operations. Accurate demand planning, efficient inventory management, and insightful cost analysis aligning business objectives will support the achievement of departmental goals and contribute to overall business success.
  • Accurately forecast demand for a specific product categories, to help prevent stockouts and ensure timely delivery to customers, contributing to customer satisfaction and sales growth.
  • Analyze data on domestic logistics costs and identify opportunities for improvement in transportation routes or warehouse operations.
  • Contribute to innovation by identifying areas for improvement in existing processes and suggesting new approaches or solutions. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to the development of innovative ideas within the team.
  • Suggest using data visualization tools to create more insightful reports on supply chain performance, making it easier to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Research and propose new inventory management techniques to improve efficiency and how to implement these techniques.
  • Support implementing a new inventory tracking system, contributing to improved data accuracy and visibility, enabling better decision-making and more efficient supply chain operations.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on planning and execution.
  • Bilingual in English and Korean
  • APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management) certification is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain management principles, planning methodologies, and basic budgeting and cost analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of demand planning, inventory management, and logistics processes is essential.
  • Needs to understand how to apply different inventory costing methods (e.g., FIFO, LIFO) and their impact on financial reporting.
  • Knowledge is applied in performing daily tasks related to demand planning, inventory management, cost analysis, and performance tracking and will utilize knowledge to analyze data, prepare reports, and contribute to the development of plans and initiatives.
  • Knowledge of demand forecasting to analyze historical sales data, identify trends, and generate forecasts for future demand.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, nd interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders. Will need to communicate clearly and concisely through emails, reports, and meetings, providing updates on their work and contributing to team discussions.
  • Negotiation skills may be required in limited situations, such as when coordinating with other departments on resource allocation or resolving minor issues with suppliers such as negotiating with the warehouse team to prioritize the storage of certain critical components to ensure timely operations.
