Job Title: Engineer II, Factory Automation

Reports to: Production Sr. Manager

Location: Queen Creek, AZ

 

LG Energy Solution Arizona, Inc. (LGESAZ) develops and manufactures cylindrical batteries for electric vehicles (EVs). Come join the leader in advanced EV batteries!

 

Summary:

As a Factory Automation Engineer, you will support with establishing and operating factory automation equipment, including optimize factory layout, bringing in and setting up the equipment, and troubleshooting equipment related issues during operation. You will also work closely with equipment manufacturers and construction team to ensure timely and smooth installation of the equipment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review and optimize factory layout.
  • Review and draft factory automation machine investment plans.
  • Install and stabilize new equipment.
  • Communicate with equipment manufacturers and construction team to ensure the equipment delivery and set up schedule is carried out as planned.
  • Train other engineers with shared responsibilities
  • Complete daily documentation and audits, as required by position
  • Follow established work instructions
  • Adhere to safety requirements at all times, including the use of proper PPE
  • Adhere to general, and position-specific, dress code requirements
  • Participate in, and successfully complete, any and all training requirements
  • Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
  • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
  • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent, relevant experience (Preferably in mechanical/electrical/industrial engineering or related fields)

 

Experience:

  • 1 to 3+ years of experience with installation, modification, analysis, repair and testing of tools, machines and other equipment
  • Analyze of equipment breakdown data preferred but not required
  • Corrective actions

 

Skills:

  • Autocad (2D) and 3D tools
  • Mitsubishi PLC * Preferred but not required
  • MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work cross functionally and collaborate with other departments
  • Internal/External Customer Interaction
  • Proficiency in written and verbal Korean preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for a period of up to 12 hours
  • Safety glasses
  • Steel-toed shoes
  • Must be able to do the following repeatedly for a period of up to 12 hours
  • Lift/push/pull
  • Stoop, twist, bend
  • Reach overhead
  • Sit and/or stand
