About the Job
We are actively seeking a team leader, champion of design and experienced product innovator to join Life360 as the Revenue Director of Product Design, reporting directly to the VP of Product Design. This role leads multiple teams across Life360’s Revenue operational groups (Growth, Ads, International), scaling design impact through strategic alignment, cross-functional collaboration. We are a rapid growth stage company, providing the tools, structure, environment and high standards is pivotal to elevating our design and both training and recruiting the best talent.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a remote environment, demonstrating exceptional communication and collaboration skills to effectively connect with both the team and stakeholders. Tasked with the alignment of design innovation and business objectives, the Design Director will be key in shaping delightful and engaging experiences for our members, working in tandem with cross-functional teams to grow revenue by delivering outsized value to members in a highly compelling way.
The candidate should have experience in revenue, advertising, and subscriptions within the consumer mobile app space
The US-based salary range for this position is $187,00-274,500. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Strategic Design Across Revenue OGs: Drive the design vision and execution for Growth, International, and Ads, ensuring solutions align with Life360’s business goals while delivering value to members, helping families feel safe and connected.
- Deliver High-Impact Results: Define and implement scalable, best in class and new design strategies that fuel user growth, deepen international engagement, and provide a member value driven Ads and offers platform.
- Champion Design Quality: Set high standards for design excellence, driving consistency with Life360’s principles across multiple teams and product areas. Advance design systems and processes that increase team efficiency and alignment.
- Advocate for User Needs: Leverage user insights, data, and storytelling to ensure user perspectives are represented at all levels. Identify opportunities to create transformative, user-centered experiences that enhance family connection and everyday convenience.
- Foster Collaboration and Impact: Build strong partnerships with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, and other key functions. Align on priorities and strategies while identifying opportunities to unlock high-value, user-focused initiatives.
- Scale and Develop Design Talent: Mentor and empower a team of designers, fostering growth in craft and impact while promoting a high-performance, inclusive culture.
- Drive Innovation: Collaborate across OGs to test bold design ideas and optimize experiences using Life360’s data and member insights. Influence product strategy with innovative, scalable solutions that deliver for both users and the business.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Design Leadership: 10+ years of experience leading product design teams and delivering impactful, user-centered solutions. Direct, recent experience leading design for growth teams, with proven results across viral growth and growth loops.
- Strategic Vision and Execution: Ability to define and execute a design strategy that drives measurable outcomes, balancing immediate goals with long-term innovation,
- Results driven: With experience in subscription-based mobile applications.
- Deep User Empathy: A strong commitment to understanding and advocating for user needs, designing experiences that reduce friction and enhance family life.
- Scalable Design Expertise: Experience building design systems and processes that enable team efficiency and consistency at scale.
- Exceptional Communication: Strong storytelling and presentation skills to articulate design rationale and inspire stakeholders, including executives.
- Data-Informed Decision Making: Proficiency in synthesizing qualitative and quantitative insights to guide strategy, experiment, and iterate for impactful results.
- Talent Development: Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow design talent, fostering collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Collaborative Mindset: Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Data teams to drive alignment and execution.
- Resilient and Adaptable: A growth mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with complex challenges.
