Lightspeed is looking for a Senior Program Manager, Talent & Capability. In this role, you will be the internal expert for our core talent processes. You will define the strategy for our talent management practices including the company-wide quarterly goal-setting process, performance management, talent reviews and talent planning, promotions and internal moves, and organizational design. You will lead cross-functional programs and projects across Compensation, People Business Partners, Talent Systems and Insights, and People Operations to drive integrated People & Culture initiatives that directly influence employee performance, internal mobility, and organizational planning across Lightspeed.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Individual Goal Setting: Design and roll out a new, company-wide quarterly goal-setting process to ensure clarity on expectations and align employee work with company priorities.
  • Talent Cycle & Talent Planning: Design and execute the strategy for our annual talent cycle, refreshing our bi-yearly talent review process, shifting focus from backward-looking assessment to forward-looking talent planning to identify high-potential employees for promotion and strategic internal mobility. 
  • Program Management: Manage cross-functional programs that coordinate efforts across Compensation, People Business Partners, Talent Systems and Insights, and People Operations teams, ensuring alignment and successful delivery of People & Culture objectives.
  • Enablement & Consulting: Partner with Talent & Capability Business Partners and People Business Partners (PBPs) to determine the most effective ways to train and enable leaders to participate effectively in talent practices.
  • Org Design Best Practices: Determine best practices for organizational design and create an accessible org design process/activity toolkit for PBPs to use when partnering with their functional leaders.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Own the execution and continuous improvement of core talent programs, acting as the primary subject matter expert and working with minimal guidance in complex situations. 

What you’ll be bringing:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience in Talent Management/Talent Development, HR Program Management, or a related functional field leading complex, cross-functional HR programs with multiple stakeholders
  • Comprehensive knowledge of performance management frameworks, methodologies, and current research, including emerging best practices and evidence-based approaches
  • Deep experience designing and executing talent review processes and succession planning frameworks across different organizational contexts
  • Strong understanding of organizational design principles and best practices tailored to various company stages (startup, scale-up, enterprise) and maturity levels
  • Proven expertise in goal-setting methodologies (OKRs, KPIs, hybrid approaches) and cascading strategy through an organization
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and driving adoption of complex, company-wide talent programs across diverse global teams.
  • As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.

At Lightspeed, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your skill set, qualifications, experience, and market data. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We reasonably expect the total compensation for this position to be in the range of $90,000 - $120,000 CAD. Lightspeed also provides a variety of employee benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, wellness, life and disability insurance, RRSP plan and match, paid parental leave top-up, and paid time off.Please note that this compensation information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within Ontario and reflects the amount Lightspeed is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
