Public Policy Manager II
Summary:
Public Policy Managers play a critical internal role in identifying, analyzing, and responding to emerging public policy issues. They lead the development and execution of strategic advocacy campaigns tailored to individual stakeholders and multi-stakeholder coalitions. This includes crafting comprehensive communications plans, coordinating third-party outreach, establishing timelines, and implementing robust evaluation frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster relationships with policymakers, trade associations, industry leaders, key opinion formers, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders to shape policy frameworks that promote private, safe, and responsible innovation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Product, Legal, Communications, Corporate Affairs, Partnerships, and global policy units to develop and advance policies that support ethical and responsible product development.
- Continuously monitor and analyze emerging public policy trends, issues, and influential thought leaders to inform strategic decision-making.
- Independently lead smaller-scale advocacy initiatives or co-manage larger campaigns, often serving as the primary client liaison.
- Design and implement campaign strategies for diverse stakeholder groups, including detailed communications plans, third-party engagement tactics, timelines, and performance metrics.
- Coordinate with internal teams—such as research, social media, creative, and media relations—to integrate their expertise into campaign strategies and ensure seamless execution aligned with client priorities.
- Uphold the company’s commitment to integrity and transparency while managing client expectations, consistently earning trust and confidence through ethical leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Demonstrated experience in internet technologies, including areas such as cybersecurity, privacy, integrity, safety, and content moderation, along with familiarity with the associated policy landscape.
- Proven background in government relations and/or public policy engagement.
- Strong track record of stakeholder engagement in policy development.
- Experience leading cross-functional policy campaigns at the domestic and/or international level.
Location: Washington D.C (Onsite)
Role type: Contract 12 Month Position
