Experienced Fostering Social Worker

Manchester

Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Children’s Social Worker to join its client’s Fostering team, based in Manchester.

Join an "Outstanding" rated Local Authority (Ofsted) within their dedicated Kinship Team. This role is focused on high-stakes, court-directed assessments, requiring a practitioner who can balance clinical expertise with the rigorous timelines of the legal system.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Court-Directed Assessments: Lead and complete complex assessments of kinship foster carers as directed by the court, ensuring all evidence is analytical and robust.
  • Fostering Regulation Compliance: Ensure all work meets the requirements of the Fostering Services Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
  • Safeguarding: Utilize extensive child protection experience to identify risk and ensure the safety of children within kinship placements.
  • Duty System: Participate in the team duty rota, which includes a requirement to work outside of standard office hours when the service demands.
  • Time Management: Manage multiple assessment deadlines simultaneously, ensuring all reports are submitted to court and panels on time.

Qualification and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Social Work England registration and a recognized Social Work qualification.
  • Specialist Assessment Skills: Proven expertise in assessing kinship foster carers (Form C/K) is essential.
  • Safeguarding Expertise: Strong background in child protection and safeguarding practice.
  • Compliance: Candidates must provide a 5-year reference history (with all gaps explained) and must pass the DfE Recommendation Compliance Questions to be considered.
  • Reliability: A track record of meeting strict deadlines and effective time management within a statutory setting.

Working Hours and Flexibility:

  • Office Presence: This role is mainly office-based, contributing to the collaborative environment of an outstanding-rated service.
  • Out of Hours: Flexibility is required to work outside of standard hours when on duty.
  • Contract: Full-time agency cover.

Our Client's Commitment:

  • Outstanding Practice: Work within a local authority recognized by Ofsted for its excellence in leadership and frontline practice.
  • Supportive Environment: Join a settled kinship team that prioritizes professional development and high-quality outcomes for children.

Reasoning for Submission:

Our client is looking for a "hit the ground running" practitioner. If you do not pass the preliminary DfE compliance questions, the application will not be progressed, ensuring a streamlined process for qualified experts.
