Job Summary
This position may be based on-site in Las Colinas (Irving), TX or Westminster, CO. This is a highly visible role within our corporate finance organization and is responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s tax function, including federal, state and local tax compliance, tax provision oversight, indirect tax compliance, and tax planning across a multi-entity structure that includes LLCs and blocker corporations.
This leader must bring strong corporate and multi-state tax expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to advise senior leadership on tax law developments, structuring and strategic transactions, while partnering closely with the CFO, CAO, FP&A, legal, treasury and external advisors in a dynamic, multi-entity environment.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Tax Compliance
- Lead federal, state, and local tax compliance for LLCs, blocker corporations and related entities.
- Direct indirect tax compliance, including sales and use, property, ad valorem, and excise taxes.
Tax Provision & Financial Reporting
- Oversee tax provision processes, including current and deferred tax calculations, effective tax rate analysis, audit support and external disclosures (all currently outsourced), including communication of effective tax rates to senior leadership.
Transaction & Strategic Tax Support
- Support acquisitions and due diligence, divestitures, financings, restructurings and other strategic transactions in an acquisitive environment.
Entity Management & Corporate Records
- Maintain entity management, registrations, tax elections and corporate records.
Tax Advisory & Technical Monitoring
- Monitor tax law developments and advise leadership on impacts and opportunities.
External Advisor & Authority Relationships
- Lead relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, valuation specialists and taxing authorities.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or related field preferred.
- CPA or advanced tax degree (e.g., Master’s in Taxation, LLM) preferred.
- Significant experience in public accounting, corporate tax, private equity-backed businesses or similar multi-entity environments required.
- Strong expertise in corporate taxation, state and local taxation and tax accounting.
- Experience managing tax provisions, compliance processes, indirect taxes and complex tax projects.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical or complex tax matters to non-tax stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with stock acquisitions, asset acquisitions and dispositions preferred.
- Multi-state tax compliance experience, including franchise, sales and use, and property taxes, preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP, tax compliance, and entity management systems preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field required.
- CPA or advanced tax degree (e.g., MST, JD/LLM in Taxation) preferred.
