Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of the sales process (prospecting, sales meetings, company introductions and presentations, proposals, negotiations and account management).
Build, nurture and maintain relationships with potential clients and partners, including in-person meetings, lunches, conferences etc.
Foster AWS relationship with existing and new teams to generate your own pipeline
Own the pre-sales journey with Loka prospects, with the support of the engineering team.
Understand the client’s business environment and communicate Loka’s value proposition clearly. Your ability to comprehend how software products are built—beyond just memorizing selling points—is crucial.
Maintain current sales performance coaching software industry and product knowledge.
Conduct market research to generate new business opportunities.
Support stakeholders with data and asset resources.
Manage projects for various sales initiatives.
Requirements
MUST HAVE
5+ years of sales experience in professional services or adjacent product selling experience
Experience in environments with exposure to data infrastructure, machine learning and/or cloud architectures
Experience working with cloud services, preferably with AWS, and strong understanding of core AWS services
Ability to travel to meet clients and attend industry events up to 25% of the month
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with varying deadlines and adapt to changes in and market
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
STRONGLY PREFERRED
Analytical and problem-solving skills and aptitude for learning quickly
Experience working for a cloud provider or cloud consulting partner
Previous experience in technical sales
Attention to detail and comfort within fast-paced work environment
US working hours, with emphasis on morning meetings for San Francisco-based candidates

As a Data Lead in Life Sciences, you will design and build modern cloud-data platforms for Life Sciences customers, focusing on Omics and analytics-heavy use cases. You will lead technical projects end to end, partner closely with Bioinformatics, ML and Product teams and ensure data infrastructure is scalable, reliable, secure and user friendly.

The Role
Design and implement scalable, cloud-native data platforms and applications for Life Sciences businesses, focusing on Omics and related multimodal datasets.
Lead technical projects through architecture, design, implementation and rollout, setting standards and best practices for the team.
Collaborate with Machine Learning, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Software Engineering, Design and Business teams to understand requirements and triage data or ETL issues.
Define and implement data quality checks, tests and monitoring to maintain high standards of code, schema and data integrity.
Monitor and analyze data flowing through pipelines and platforms, building appropriate dashboards, alerts and observability tooling.
Manage a team of data engineers and assist them with project guidance and career development.
Requirements
5+ years of experience, including responsibility for production systems, in Data Engineering or a closely related role
3+ years of experience leading teams, including technical mentorship and delivery ownership
Proven ability to communicate technical status, risks and trade-offs to clients and internal stakeholders, providing clear guidance on data platform and architecture decisions
Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for building data pipelines, transformations and analytics tooling
Strong experience in ETL/ELT design, implementation and maintenance across batch and/or streaming workloads
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP or Azure) delivering data-centric products or platforms
Experience with in-memory and disk-based data stores, relational and non-relational databases and search technologies (e.g. MySQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch), with bonus points for graph databases (e.g. Neo4j)
Experience with data warehousing concepts, dimensional/columnar modeling and modern warehouse/lakehouse patterns
Working knowledge of data lakes, data warehouses and massively parallel processing (MPP) technologies or services
Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work through ambiguity, incomplete specifications and evolving requirements
Experience collaborating with Bioinformatics teams or developing workflows and platforms that support Bioinformatics pipelines
Preferred but Not Required
Working knowledge of core security and reliability concepts: IAM, federated authentication, SSO/SAML, encryption, network/security best practices, backup and disaster recovery
Familiarity with Omics and Life Sciences datasets (e.g. RNA‑seq, ATAC‑seq, WGS) and relevant bioinformatics data formats (e.g. FASTQ, BAM, VCF, h5ad)
Strong experience with distributed systems for large-scale data processing and analytics
Experience with Spark for large-scale and interactive data manipulation
Experience with open table/lakehouse formats (e.g. Apache Hudi, Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, Databricks) and their role in modern data platforms
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines for data and infrastructure changes
Experience with BI and data visualization tools (e.g. QuickSight, Looker, Tableau) for building dashboards and monitoring

HR Operations Manager

Loka is looking for an HX Operations Manager to build and lead a scalable, reliable and human-centered operations engine that supports our global growth. This role combines leadership, operational excellence and hands-on execution to ensure our employee operations run smoothly, consistently and with clear ownership across regions. You will lead and evolve HR Operations across Eastern and Western Europe, USA and LATAM, balancing execution, structure and scalability while ensuring compliance, consistency and operational excellence.

The Role
Lead, coach and develop a distributed HR Operations team across multiple regions.
Set a clear bar for ownership, standards and quality across all HR Ops processes.
Escalate complex or high-risk operational matters as needed.
Own and continuously improve the full HR Operations lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, compliance, payroll coordination, benefits, vendors and internal programs.
Identify operational bottlenecks, risks and inconsistencies and implement solutions that scale with company growth.
Balance global consistency with local legal and cultural requirements.
Treat HR Operations as an internal service, prioritizing work based on urgency, employee impact, risk and cost.
Design scalable processes, improve documentation and reduce manual work through automation and better tooling.
Partner with Finance, Legal, HRIS and Leadership to ensure aligned and reliable operations.
Requirements
5+ years in HR, People, or Operations roles with end-to-end operational ownership
3 years of experience leading and developing teams
Strong hands-on experience managing operational processes (onboarding, compliance, payroll coordination, contracts, benefits, etc.)
Experience operating in service-oriented environments, balancing prioritization, response time, and impact
Demonstrated experience scaling operations in growing environments (startup, scaling company, or evolving organization)
Background in the IT/technology sector
Strong client/service mindset, understanding operational impact on employees and business outcomes
Experience working in globally distributed or remote-first organizations
Strong operational rigor, ownership and attention to accuracy and risk management
Fluent English used daily in professional environments
