EMC Simulation Engineer, Power Electronics
We are currently seeking an EMC simulation Engineer. This position requires a talented engineer with passion and experience to simulate and model the electromagnetic compatibility issues in a cross functional manner in powertrain system. The candidate will be responsible for modeling of the powertrain system including OBC, drive unit, battery pack and HV cables etc. to ensure they comply with EMC regulations and do not interfere with other on-board electronics. Develop and implement cost reduction strategies based on the simulation model, ensuring that EMC performance is preserved without compromise. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform PCB, component and circuit modeling using simulation tools such as, ANSYS (SIwave, HFSS, Maxwell, Q3D, Circuit, etc), EMA3D, FEKO, CST, Simulink, LTspice, PSIM, etc.
- Use CAD tools to create and simplify 3D model for EMC simulation
- Work with EE and ME engineers to PCB/components/vehicle/cable modeling simulations to debug EMC issues and optimize EMI filter designs for cost reduction.
- Perform component and system level CE, RE, RI, BCI simulation and work closely with testing team to validate simulation results and make iterative design improvements.
- Perform magnetic components simulation such as common-mode choke, power inductor and transformers
- Perform PCB and filter components simulation for near field coupling analysis
- Perform simulations to study shielding effectiveness and grounding strategy of ECUs, HV cables or LV harness
- Perform highspeed signal cross-talk and PDN decoupling simulation
Qualifications:
- BS (and preferably MS or PhD) in an electrical engineering discipline or a related field
- A proven track record of technical excellence in EMI/EMC simulation software.
- Familiar with automotive EMC standards.
- Capable to apply relevant simulation tools and methods.
- Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical environments.
- Deep understanding of the physics and fundamental of low frequency and high frequency of electromagnetics.
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$110,000 - $127,000 USD
