Job Description: Staff Software Engineer, Camera
Lucid Motors is leading the charge in redefining luxury electric vehicles. We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer, Camera, to join our Infotainment Software team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, integrate and maintain software for cameras on automotive embedded platforms, covering camera drivers, middleware and applications. Interface with camera sensors over MIPI CSI interfaces and ISP pipelines.
- Optimize camera software for minimal platform resource consumption, low latency, high performance, high stability, and high image quality, including various lighting and environmental conditions.
- Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders within the company and external vendors/suppliers, to ensure seamless end-to-end camera functionality.
- Drive compliance with automotive standards including ISO 26262, ASPICE, and safety requirements.
- Support factory provisioning and configuration of camera features across vehicle variants.
- Contribute to technical reviews, design documentation, code quality initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in embedded software development, with a focus on automotive and camera systems.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ and object-oriented design and programming.
- Hands-on experience with camera frameworks (e.g. V4L2), device drivers, and ISP.
- Strong understanding of camera pipelines, protocols and interfaces (I2C, GMSL, SERDES, MIPI-CSI2 etc.)
- Good understanding of Qualcomm or similar automotive SoCs and camera software stacks on them.
- Experience with hardware encoders and decoders is a plus.
- Self-motivated problem-solving leader with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$147,000 - $215,600 USD

The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
