
Staff Technical Program Manager, Interior Lighting Systems
We are currently seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager, Automotive Interior Lighting Systems. This position is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented professional with experience in managing cross-functional automotive projects, particularly those involving advanced opto-electronic systems. The candidate should possess strong organizational skills, the ability to collaborate across engineering, supply chain, and quality teams, and a desire to grow within a fast-paced, technically complex environment.
The ideal candidate is proactive, hands-on, and eager to contribute to the successful delivery of components in alignment with vehicle program goals. This individual ensures clear communication across stakeholders, tracks milestones and deliverables, and supports issue resolution throughout the product development lifecycle.
Role
- Supports the execution of opto-electronic component programs (e.g. interior lighting, controllers, software), ensuring delivery on schedule, within scope, and to quality standards.
- Coordinates program schedules, action plans, and reporting with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers.
- Maintains strong communication across teams to ensure alignment on timelines, requirements, and milestones.
- Tracks key deliverables and supports issue tracking, risk identification, and escalation when necessary.
- Assists in defining technical requirements and documentation for components in collaboration with engineering leads.
- Participates in supplier reviews, product builds, and testing phases.
- Supports root-cause analysis and change management processes in coordination with engineering and quality teams.
- Collaborates with other TPMs and engineering managers to monitor resource needs, program status, and dependencies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technical program or project management, preferably in automotive and opto-electronic components
- Familiarity with product development life cycles from concept to launch.
- Understanding of automotive industry workflows and coordination between OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
- Experience working with engineering teams and managing project schedules, deliverables, and tracking tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of optical technologies (e.g., projection optics, waveguides, DLP, LCD).
- Knowledgeable of mechanical – digital integration.
- Experience supporting or working with Tier 1 suppliers in a hardware manufacturing or validation role.
- Familiarity with automotive development and validation processes (e.g., DV/PV, engineering change control).
- Understanding of communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) is a plus.
- Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Project Management coursework or certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM) is a plus but not required.
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$146,100 - $214,280 USD
