Powertrain Launch Project manager will manage the operational aspects of new model launch & capital projects and serve as liaison between Powertrain Manufacturing Launch team and other inter-company groups. The role requires understanding of manufacturing processes, facilities infrastructure and requires determination to achieve project targets while maintaining focus on details.
You Will:
- Strategize, develop project plan, schedule, workflow, and maintain project timelines.
- Liaison and maintain strong relationships with other company groups (Product Design, Facilities Construction, Supply Chain, Finance, PM office, Capex, etc) to progress PWT Manufacturing projects
- Manage Capital projects – develop & control budget, schedule, and manage product design release, construction contractor, project documentation, etc
- Develop and analyze efficient PWT concept Layouts and proposals for equipment and facilities – considering process quality, throughput (cycle time), cost, timing.
- Develop Facility Specifications & Bid Documentation and participate in facility (building) and process equipment RFQ process
- Assist Manufacturing Engineering in coordinating & tracking Product Release and engineering changes.
- Manage Manufacturing Engineering prototype builds, material flow, production equipment installation & commissioning.
- Assist Simultaneous Engineering activities – understand PWT manufacturing development, plan manufacturing R&D testing of new methods and guide product design changes for manufacturing
- Manage product change control workflow
- Identify and track open issues, develop risk mitigation strategies and coordinate with appropriate stakeholders within the company for action items
- Knowledge of latest innovations in manufacturing engineering and applications.
You Bring:
- Bachelors or master’s in engineering or related Field with 4+ years of relative experience
- Experienced in Project Management in New Product Introduction / Industrial Manufacturing project environment.
- Experienced in PWT Manufacturing Processes and/or PWT Product Design
- Experienced in new Greenfield / Brownfield Facility Infrastructure planning
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate cross functional teams and deliver target initiatives.
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Independent and Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Software: AutoCAD, Catia V6 (3DExperience), MS Office, MS Project, Navisworks
- Ability to understand Construction Mechanical and Electrical drawings.
- Willing to Travel up to 25% of the time.
