Interiors Engineer II, Plant Vehicle Engineering

The Role:
- Solve complex component/system level problems using standard problem-solving techniques
- Data driven proactive problem solving & issue avoidance due to process deviations or critical part quality issues.
- Responsible for design intent assembly requirements of interior system & enforcement on the assembly line
- Troubleshoot fit and finish issue on class A surfaces.
- Support new product launches, execute part concession deviations for interiors, seating, and restraints components in the manufacturing plant.
- Interact with internal release teams, new product introduction team, quality engineers and suppliers for change control
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Science, or relevant areas, Masters preferred.
- 1-3 years automotive experience in design and release and/or vehicle attributes.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance stacks up analysis.
- Experience in the root cause analysis or Six Sigma problem solving in the production environment.
- Resilience and have a "can-do" approach to problem solving
- Exceptional communication and documentation skills are required using Atlassian products.
- Travel is required between the factory in Casa Grande, AZ and Engineering HQ in Newark, CA on as needed basis.
Advantageous:
- Working knowledge of plastics, textiles, leather, vinyl and fastening methods
- Previously participated in prototype builds or launch events.
- General knowledge of vehicle components, assembly, etc.
- Experience with 3D CAD. CATIA preferred
- Experience with Atlassian software like Jira and Confluence.
