Position Overview: The Lead Design Studio Show Car Painter is responsible for overseeing the painting and surfacing processes of show cars and design studio development models, ensuring the highest quality finishes that meet the studio’s exacting standards. This role involves managing a team of painters, coordinating with design and engineering teams, and maintaining a seamless workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of painters, providing guidance and training.
- Develop and implement painting techniques and processes to achieve superior finishes.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure paint specifications align with design intent.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and client expectations.
- Manage inventory of painting supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal stock levels.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in painting technologies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive concours level painting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Advanced expertise in various painting techniques, including custom finishes and color matching.
- Extensive surfacing experience creating and maintaining body lines and highlights.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
