Lucid is hiring a Director, Enterprise Architecture to lead the Enterprise Architecture (EA) function to develop, maintain and govern the architectures across the Lucid Business and IT (including Manufacturing). Drive architecture to deliver business value. Facilitate conversion of Business Strategy and relevant trends into action and express them in the processes and systems of Lucid. Directly reports to the Vice President of Information Technology and supporting Lucid’s global footprint in development of the IT roadmap, influence overall IT funding levels, and expedite time to market for all key Lucid initiatives. This role requires significant leadership to build partnerships and collaboration across the Business and IT organizations (including the Factory team). Validate business cases, aid technology selection, and socialize the importance of a given initiative to Lucid Executives and leadership. Balance a diverse portfolio of initiatives that span across run and transform the business.  

In addition to technical expertise, the role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with and influence Lucid Executives and leaders. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to articulate complex architectural concepts in a clear, business-oriented manner, driving alignment and securing buy-in from diverse stakeholders (including the Executive team). A key aspect of the role is the ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration between IT teams (Enterprise, Factory, etc.) and business units, ensuring seamless integration of business requirements and IT capabilities. 

This position requires full-time onsite presence at the Lucid Headquarters in Newark, California.  

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategize 

  • Develop Point of Views on IT technology, automotive industry and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise. 
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Information Technology and other Location (KSA, EU) Leadership to develop a wholistic Enterprise vision and build the Enterprise strategy. 
  • Lead the identification and analysis of drivers to derive business, information, technical and solution architecture requirements. 
  • Understand, advocate, and support the enterprise's Information Technology strategies in addition to the Enterprise Architecture strategies. 

Lead 

  • Establish the EA capability across Lucid with relevant resource pool and skillsets. 
  • Co-lead, engage and interact with other EA leaders across the organization to build a world class enterprise stack. 
  • Matrix responsibility of EA leaders within the IT organization.  
  • Assess and communicate the achievement and impact of EA to the Lucid Executive team. 
  • Validate organizational requirements for systems (business processes), as well as the structures and cultural change necessary to support the EA. 
  • Act as an advisor to ongoing EA implementations across Lucid. 
  • Represent IT and advocate IT initiatives to the Lucid Executive team to obtain alignment and support across the organization. 
  • Lead presentations and craft executive communications to provide ongoing updates to Lucid Executive team and leadership. 

Architect 

  • Drive innovation by aligning the mindset towards moving from technology driven to business outcome driven architecture. 
  • Analyze the current Enterprise, IT, and Manufacturing environments to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for enhancement. 
  • Oversee the documentation of all architecture design and analysis work.  
  • Oversee the evaluation of software and hardware product standards as necessary. 
  • Consult with application/infrastructure development projects to fit systems to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs. 

Govern 

  • Lead or facilitate the creation of governing principles to guide Lucid and solution decision making for the enterprise. 
  • Design and direct the governance structure and compliance activities (including exception and exemption handling) associated with ensuring compliance with the EA. Serve as point of escalation, review and approval for key issues and decisions. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field. 
  • Extensive experience in varies facets of IT and enterprise architecture – including at least 10 years of professional experience in deeply technical roles related to IT or Enterprise Architecture. 
  • 5+ years of experience as an Enterprise Architect in Auto or Manufacturing Industry 
  • Proficiency in various IT frameworks, tools, business processes and best practices is essential. This includes knowledge of Enterprise applications, Cloud computing technologies, Cybersecurity, Manufacturing and digital transformation technologies. 
  • TOGAF or similar certifications. 
  • Knowledge of the automotive and/or manufacturing industry, along with related processes and best practices. 
  • Effective leadership, team building and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate. 
  • Strategy formulation and Technology forecasting. 
  • Competitive analysis and Network economic skills. 
  • Business transformation and alternative delivery methods. 
  • Breadth of knowledge across all aspects of infrastructure design, delivery, operations and evolution. 
  • Knowledge and experience of applications (SAP, Salesforce, AWS), integration, information management and data quality.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
 
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$208,400 - $305,580 USD
