
Engineer, Exterior Fascias
This position requires experienced professionals with a experience for designing and developing principles for Exterior Systems parts of a world class vehicle in terms of both styling and function. Our ideal candidates exhibit a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. Will also act as a mentor to more junior engineers.
Role
· Plays a lead role in the problem resolution, engineering updates for a launch of a state-of-the-art car.
· Represent exterior systems team onsite at AZ factory, track on the engineering problem solutions ensuring on quality, reliability, functionality, mass and cost efficiency.
· Will also act as a mentor to more junior engineers.
Qualifications
· Have an engineering degree ideally in mechanical engineering and 3+ years of related work experience.
· Experience in CAD design (preferably 3Dx or Catia V5)
· Been involved in at least 3 automotive program launches (6 months before SOP until 3 months after SOP)
· Front / Rear Bumper Fascias experience preferred
· Other Exterior ornamentation and / or Frontend Module experience a bonus
· Experience on root cause analysis
· Ecube reviews / measurements
· Organize / lead metrology resources to produce the dimensional results (scan for instance) for proper root cause analysis
· DOE
· Familiar with fish bone, 8D’s, …
· Hands on experience (himself or directing activities through drawings, PPT’s, …)
· Capable of coming up with quick countermeasures to fit issues.
· 3D print solutions
· Tape, foam
· Grinding, cutting, …
· Capable of directing / mentoring people on the line to accomplish proper installation of our portfolio of components (point #3)
Advantageous
· Prior experience with exterior systems parts launch at the major OEM or Tier-1
· Hands on experience through an automotive product development cycle
· A strong desire to create the very best product, working as an integral part of a very capable team
· Well-developed team working and interpersonal skills
· A great work ethic
Education
· Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
· Advanced Degree is advantageous
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$97,600 - $134,200 USD
