
Sr. Engineer, Power Semiconductor Device
We are currently seeking a Power semiconductor device engineer. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. You Will:
- The candidate will collaborate with power electronics design teams, manage, and drive power device qualification and reliability improvement programs focusing on wide bandgap power devices
- Work closely with supplier and design team to define extrinsic and intrinsic reliability test methodologies focused on early identification of reliability challenges
- Develop power semiconductor device qualification plans and work with design and testing teams to ensure effective and timely execution of test plans
- Create reliability models to predict device performance and lifetime
- Facilitate structured problem-solving using industry-standard tools such as Fault Tree Analysis, Fishbone, 5-why, and 8D methodology for root causing semiconductor device failure
You Bring:
- 5+ years of work experience in SiC/GaN device physics.
• More than 10 years' experience in wide bandgap power semiconductor device reliability, device design, device engineering, and/or process development.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to challenge ideas constructively. - Deep understanding of power device operation and application in power electronics circuits
• Fundamental understanding of Weibull distribution, SPC, DOE methodology, and the science related to semiconductor fab processes, inspection, and failure analysis.
• Statistical analysis skills, with experience in JMP or other statistical tools for data analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse teams - Experience working with power electronics circuit utilizing power semiconductors
• Strong technical problem-solving skills.
Preferred qualifications: - Hands-on testing experience of power semiconductor devices
- Experience in battery electric vehicles.
- Experience working in power semiconductor supplier
Education:
- M.S. or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or related discipline.
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$140,000 - $192,500 USD
