Quality Manager
About the Position
Are you a detail-driven quality professional with a passion for infrastructure excellence? Join a high-impact team delivering one of the region’s most ambitious rail and transit programs. We’re looking for a Quality Manager with a proven track record in the Rail and Transit industry to lead quality assurance and control across complex, multi-phase projects.
In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring construction and system delivery meets the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance. You’ll work both in-office and on-site, collaborating with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to uphold quality from design through delivery.
This is a long-term, full-time, on-site position located in Washington DC.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Project Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 standards and client requirements.
- Establish and manage project-specific QA/QC plans and inspection test plans for architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
- Oversee quality inspections, audits, and non-conformance reporting; ensure timely closure of NCR’s and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and consultants to resolve quality issues and ensure consistency throughout design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Conduct root cause analyses and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Provide quality training and mentorship to project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Lead quality meetings, compile reports, and deliver project quality performance metrics to internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quality, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years' professional experience professional experience in quality management, engineering, and/or auditing.
- Experience leading and/or participating in quality assurance audits.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, codes (e.g., IBC, ASTM, ACI, ASME), and standard QA/QC practices.
- Experience analyzing complex data and situations, and resolving them using sound, professional judgment.
- Must understand the needs of all components that are important in building useful quality systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365/Suite (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years' professional experience professional experience in quality management, engineering, and/or auditing.
- Experience managing, coaching, guiding, and assisting technical and administrative staff.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Quality Auditor (CQA).
- Certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor.
- Certified Six-Sigma Black or Green Belt (CSSBG).
Compensation Details
The salary range listed for this role is $115k-$175k/year ($55-$84/hour) The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidate’s level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
