Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM EST, On-call rotation

Job Description
The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and effective pharmacy operations while delivering high-quality patient care. This role includes prescription verification, clinical review of patient therapies, medication dispensing, and patient counseling within BioMatrix Specialty Pharmacy and Centers of Excellence.
The Clinical Pharmacist partners cross-functionally with internal teams, including Reimbursement, Nursing, Intake, and Pharmacy Operations, to support optimal patient outcomes and ensure seamless medication management.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance
- Evaluate patient records to ensure safe and effective medication therapy
- Provide patient counseling on specialty medications and treatment plans
- Monitor drug therapies and recommend clinical interventions as needed
- Detect therapeutic duplications, interactions, and contraindications
- Oversee and validate pharmacy technician activities and documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams to support patient onboarding, referrals, and prescription fulfillment
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation standards (HIPAA, FDA, DEA, ACHC, URAC, etc.)
- Support workflow efficiency across intake, dispensing, and delivery processes
- Serve as a clinical escalation point for patient care and prescription-related issues
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records, documentation, and reporting
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory audits
- Provide training and mentorship to pharmacy staff, interns, and technicians
- Participate in on-call rotation as required
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited program
- Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of New York
- Strong knowledge of specialty pharmacy therapies and patient qualification processes
- Experience delivering high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of pharmacy experience (Specialty, Infusion)
- Experience supporting specialty pharmacy operations and patient care coordination
- Knowledge of payer requirements, reimbursement processes, and specialty drug access
- Experience working collaboratively with pharmacy technicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with CareTend or similar pharmacy management systems
- Certification in Good Clinical Practices (GCP)

Additional Requirements

BioMatrix Pay Range/Rate
$130,000 - $140,000 USD
