We’re seeking a skilled Staff Data Platform Engineer to join our team!
The Data Platform Development team builds the internal systems that power and extend the Machinify platform. We focus on creating scalable, reliable infrastructure that enables seamless communication, data processing, and analytics across our products and customer-facing systems.
Working closely with the core Machinify platform—written in Scala—we act as internal platform customers, designing and building orchestration and supporting services in Golang that sit on top of the core engine. Our team develops internal products and analytics capabilities that enhance performance, reliability, and extensibility across the organization, ensuring our platform can scale alongside our customers and AI-driven use cases.
We are seeking an experienced Staff Data Platform Engineer with a focus on big data systems, orchestration, and ETL processes. In this role, you will architect and implement scalable data infrastructure using both existing and greenfield systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our data solutions meet business needs and leverage cloud-native tools for optimal performance.

What You’ll Do
- Design and build scalable and high-performance data software solutions using Golang and Python.
- Build and deploy Kubernetes-based systems to manage containerized applications in cloud-native environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address customer needs, ensuring our systems evolve to meet future requirements.
- Optimize performance, reliability, and security of our backend infrastructure.
- Work on data modeling and transformation to support machine learning workflows and AI-powered applications.
What you Bring
- 10+ Years in software development with Python and SQL.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes, big data pipelines, and relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.).
- Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Dagster).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their ecosystem tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and clean coding practices.
- Experience with Apache Spark or similar technologies.
- Experience with agentic coding workflows.
- Experience with data modeling, transformation, and integration.
- Experience with data quality, lineage, and modeling tools.
- Experience in software development with Golang.
- Experience with managed data lake systems (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AWS Redshift).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration (Docker, Helm, etc.).
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code systems (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools for distributed systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL workflows, and data transformation techniques.

The salary for this position is based on an array of factors unique to each candidate: Such as years and depth of experience, set skills, certifications, etc. The base salary range for this role is $210k-$250k. We are hiring for different levels, and our Recruiting team will let you know if you qualify for a different role/range. Salary is one component of the total compensation package, which includes meaningful equity, excellent healthcare, flexible time off, and other benefits and perks.
