Resource Planning Lead

North America

Method is a global design and engineering consultancy founded in 1999. We believe that innovation should be meaningful, beautiful and human. We craft practical, powerful digital experiences that improve lives and transform businesses. Our teams [based in New York, Charlotte, Atlanta, London, Bengaluru, and remote] work with a wide range of organizations in many industries, including Healthcare, Financial Services, Retail, Automotive, Aviation, and Professional Services.

Method is part of GlobalLogic, a digital product engineering company. GlobalLogic integrates experience design and complex engineering to help our clients imagine what’s possible and accelerate their transition into tomorrow’s digital businesses. GlobalLogic is a Hitachi Group Company.

We’re hiring a Resource Planning Lead to take ownership of project staffing at Method. This is a high-activity, internal-facing role responsible for ensuring our client projects are staffed effectively, our forecasting data is accurate, and our resourcing communication processes are running smoothly. This role would be a Band 2 role reporting to Mark Flowers on the Services Operations team.

What this role is:

  • A central hub for matching talent supply and demand across our delivery teams (approximately 300 people).
  • A driver of utilization and margin by helping us avoid both unnecessary bench time and costly project delays.
  • A communicator and negotiator who helps delivery teams, recruiting, sales, and leadership align on timelines and trade-offs when resources are constrained.
  • An information steward who ensures we can trust the staffing data used to forecast hiring needs and revenue planning.

Responsibilities

  • Own project staffing: ensure all roles are filled or have a plan with a clear timeline.
  • Maintain accurate project assignment data to enable reliable forecasting and planning.
  • Own and manage the communications process for staffing: notify recruiting when to hire and notify delivery when to staff.
  • Manage resourcing calendars and help resolve conflicts before they impact delivery.
  • Forecast future needs based on sales pipeline and project plans.
  • Model different staffing and hiring scenarios to help us make better decisions.
  • Partner with recruiting to effectively time hiring plans.
  • Collaborate with account managers and discipline leads to understand project needs.
  • Communicate resource constraints and trade-offs clearly and credibly to leadership.

Requirements

Must-haves:

  • Ability to work EST hours (earlier is fine, later is not).
  • Experience in consultancy or agency environments with fluctuating staffing needs.
  • Experience managing staffing across multiple projects at once.
  • Experience dealing with prioritization of competing business goals of utilization, project priorities, and urgent needs.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, trade-offs, and saying “no” constructively.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills—this role often makes suboptimal decisions for optimal outcomes.

Nice-to-haves (but teachable):

  • Familiarity with tools like Runn, Float, Forecast, or similar.
  • Familiarity with advanced Google Sheets (or Excel), Google Apps Scripts, and/or Google Gemini / ChatGPT
  • Experience refining resource allocation processes
  • Experience with BI reporting and Dashboards (ideally Looker Studio).
  • Understanding of how product, design, and engineering roles intersect.
  • Comfort with scenario planning and forecasting methods.
  • Data fluency to support decision-making and trend identification.
  • Experience defining a proactive hiring list based on forecast needs.
  • Experience aligning growth and retention goals with business needs through staffing.
