What You’ll Do

Develop & Maintain Software Products and Systems

  • Design, plan, implement, test, document, and deliver high-quality software applications and systems
  • Ensure solutions meet standards for quality, testability, maintainability, scalability, and security
  • Advocate for and contribute to robust test automation capabilities
  • Perform code maintenance and manage technical debt while optimizing the developer experience
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex defects, including issues beyond your immediate area of expertise

Provide Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a subject matter expert across product features, technologies, or systems
  • Collaborate with senior technical leaders on design and architecture
  • Share knowledge through documentation, tech talks, and team learning sessions
  • Mentor junior team members and support their growth

Support Production Systems

  • Maintain high-quality production software through ongoing support
  • Participate in on-call rotations as needed
  • Lead investigations into incidents and defects, including root cause analysis and follow-up actions

Drive Software Delivery

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects successfully
  • Plan and manage backlogs for medium to large features or projects
  • Enable incremental, iterative delivery with predictable velocity
  • Manage risks and competing priorities through proactive communication

Collaborate & Communicate

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align on goals, priorities, and risks
  • Provide thoughtful, thorough, and timely code reviews

Continuously Learn & Grow

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of progressive commercial software development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, algorithms, and data structures
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++, C#, Python, JavaScript)
  • Experience with web technologies including HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Vue.js, .NET Core, or Node.js
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English

This position is onsite at our State College, PA headquarters, remote work is not an option.
