Director, Global Strategy & Partnerships- Commerce
DIRECTOR, GLOBAL STRATEGY & PARTNERSHIPS - COMMERCE
THE ROLE
MiQ is looking for an exceptional Strategy & Partnerships Director to drive innovation & grow our feature set across commerce media - ranging from retail media to direct response and e-commerce capabilities.
This role focuses on building and delivering against world class partnerships and product offerings for commerce, addressing anywhere a consumer can purchase - in-store, on a website, or through a marketplace. The Director will own key partnerships across RMNs, DSP/ SSP platforms, affiliate/ purchase based data aggregators, and e-commerce toolkits and bring these partnerships to life through MiQs technology platforms and capabilities.
The successful candidate will work with external vendors, clients, commercial stakeholders and, critically, MiQ product development teams to ensure our commerce solutions are differentiated and built to deliver superior results for marketers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Strategy:
- Research retail media & commerce sector globally - produce partner mapping overviews highlighting MiQ’s right-to-play across the ecosystem (offsite, on site, affiliate, etc)
- Define, communicate & refine a clear vision for commerce media solutions across MiQ’s capabilities - defining ‘hero features’ and solutions that deliver across pre-campaign, mid-flight and post campaign
- Design and deliver a series of high quality, high scale POCs against commerce capabilities - targeting, planning or measurement - which deliver differentiated performance for clients
Partner Management & External Engagement:
- Forge net new relationships with key global media & data owners to understand capabilities and partnership opportunities
- Directly propose and negotiate commercial terms with global RMN and commerce partners, helping secure favorable CPMs, data fees & platform trading rates
- Identify strategic data, publisher or platform partnership targets to gain unique or differentiated advantage in commerce media (access, priority, or pricing)
- Onboard partners into MiQ’s ecosystem from introduction to integration - managing contracting, onboarding, and outlining growth potential & features facilitated by partners
- Be an external champion for MiQ when it relates to commerce and retail media - be the voice of the solution on client pitches, industry panels and within marketing engagements
Internal Collaboration & leadership:
- Partner deeply with MiQ product development directors and leads, bringing commerce solutions to life within MiQ’s Unified Platform
- Develop product briefing documents complete with revenue potential and industry research to inject innovation ideas into product management and development groups
- Collaborate with trading & commercial teams to test and prioritize commerce opportunities
- Work with local sales enablement teams to support with an impactful Commerce GTM
- Act as a Commerce expert within MiQ, serving as a the leading voice of the solution - produce internal training materials & speak on trainings in collaboration with global product marketing
SUPPORTING RESOURCE:
- Partnership analysis resource to support with reporting and testing strategies
- MiQ’s global product development teams with capabilities across pre-campaign, optimization, reporting & insights & data management requirements
- One direct report, Senior Strategy & Partnerships Manager
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 8+ years of advertising technology experience preferably in a strategy, partnerships or product role
- 3+ years of vertical specialism in commerce, retail media, or performance media
- In depth knowledge of the programmatic landscape, the data and technology that underpins it.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal to address C level both internally and externally
- Experience working with global commercial markets
- A fail fast and learn mentality in experimenting with new concepts and industry opportunities
- Detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize projects/tasks simultaneously and to completion
- A can-do attitude to provide energy, drive, and enthusiasm

Pay Transparency
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York City, MiQ is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to New York City and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At MiQ, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $220,000-$250,000. This range may vary for positions outside of New York City as it has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled and does not take into account our bonus and commission structures.
