Senior Product Designer

London

We are seeking a Senior Product Designer on a fixed-term basis until the end of the year, with a passion for finding solutions that enable our internal and external customers to intuitively use our products. The ideal candidate will be skilled at every stage of the design process, with a strong focus on the needs of the customer.

You will need a passion for understanding people, a love for solving problems and an eye for clean and artful design. All for the goal of providing users with an intuitive and delightful experience. You will work with other designers, product managers, engineers and other cross-functional team members globally to design beautiful interfaces that improve user experiences and help MiQ’s app suite drive business outcomes. You will rely heavily on both qualitative and quantitative data to make informed decisions.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

In the role you will be accountable for, but not limited to, the following:   

Delivery 

  • Generate new ideas, concepts or resolve problems by leading workshops, structured brainstorms, one on ones, or other collaborative exercises
  • Deliver high-quality at all design stages, from wireframes to prototypes to high fidelity mock-ups
  • Produce the required documentation to support the Design process (e.g. user journeys, wireframes, site maps, page and component specifications, guidelines, and reports)

Project Management 

  • Accomplishing tasks on time and to a high quality, managing different deadlines and priorities
  • Work with research / product / engineering to ensure UX metrics are considered and implemented for complete product analytics
  • Plan and organise different types of UX / UI workshops, user testing and feedback sessions to drive continuous improvement

Internal Collaboration 

  • Work closely with product, marketing and technology teams to understand current and future complexity and identify areas of improvement through design
  • Participate in design reviews to give and receive constructive feedback with colleagues and leadership
  • Working with internal stakeholders, building relationships and working across differences to find solutions to business problems

Communication 

  • Ensure all final designs meet our brand guidelines and standards
  • Be a champion for great user experience across all products
  • Crisp and clear communication to external partners/clients or internal stakeholders; flexing communication style to persuade others and influence positive outcomes 

Leadership

  • Mentor Junior and Mid-Weight Product designers and provide constructive feedback at improving the team’s delivery
  • Facilitate and listen with purpose at team and department level
  • Be an example for the rest of the team

Innovation 

  • Research and stay current with trends in UI, UX & Product Design
  • Understand business challenges and work in partnership with product to address these through design and tech innovation
  • Open to receiving and trying new ideas, processes or ways of working and always striving for excellence 

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • You have at least 5 years’ experience in Product Design / UX/UI 
  • You have experience using Figma, Dovetail as well as tools like JIRA, Mixpanel or Hotjar (or similar)
  • You have experience working in an agile environment against tight deadlines
  • You have a strong portfolio and case studies (preferably demonstrating that you can design products based on business goals)
  • You have strong communication, presentation and leadership skills and are familiar in working cross functionally across different teams
  • You have experience in launching new products
  • You have experience in conducting workshops and usability tests
  • You have used UX principles and processes on previous projects and are familiar with branding concepts
  • A can-do attitude to provide energy, drive, and enthusiasm
