The head of Legal in Latin America is a key member of our global legal team. This role leads commercial legal support across LATAM, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of contracts, advising internal teams on day-to-day legal matters, and overseeing regional regulatory compliance across 12 territories. It also supports post-acquisition integration work, manages outside counsel, and helps build the LATAM legal function through scalable processes, templates, and governance frameworks.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As the Head of Legal for Latin America, you will have following responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contracts. Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts with clients (agencies, brands, publishers), technology vendors, data providers and strategic partners across LATAM.
- Regional coverage. Provide legal support for operations in 12 territories across LATAM, with sound judgment on when to escalate.
- Internal advisory. Advise sales, operations and product teams on day-to-day legal matters: service agreements, SAASs, NDAs, data processing agreements.
- M&A Integration. Support the post-acquisition integration of Adsmovil and Rocketlab: contract harmonization, internal policies and governance frameworks.
- Regulatory compliance. Monitor regulatory changes relevant to the AdTech business across the region: data privacy, digital advertising, consumer protection.
- External firms. Manage relationships with external counsel when specialized local expertise is required.
- Team building. Contribute to building the LATAM legal function: processes, templates, playbooks and best practices.
Who You Are:
MUST HAVES
- Law degree with 4 to 7 years of experience in transactional law, corporate law or technology, ideally marketing/media agencies, in-house or at a firm with tech/media clients.
- Solid experience reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
- Advanced English (written and spoken).
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritize in high-demand environments and communicate clearly to non-legal audiences.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations in LATAM (Habeas Data in Colombia is a plus).
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience in AdTech, digital media, SaaS or technology platforms.
- Experience working with international clients or in multinational corporate structures.
- Knowledge of digital advertising regulatory frameworks (IAB, GDPR as reference, CCPA).
- Conversational Portuguese (not required, but valued for coordination with Brazil).
