About the Role:

This role requires a hands-on technical leader to manage and grow a data warehouse engineering team. The ideal candidate will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data warehousing solutions and batch systems to support the data needs of a growing organization. Effective collaboration with Product, Data Science, and ML teams is also essential.

Responsibilities:

• Data Warehouse:
• Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for several key functions related to large-scale data warehousing and data processing.
• Set data warehouse strategy to meet the needs of internal and external customers of a growing organization.
• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and distributed systems.
• Team Leadership & Management:
• Hands on technical leader.
• Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Set clear goals, and drive performance.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop top engineering talent.
• Collaborate effectively with Product, Data Science and ML engineering teams
• Technical Expertise:
• Experience in large-scale data warehouse strategy and execution.
• Experience in building data ingestion and pipelines for reporting, billing, and analytics.
• Experience in building and operating microservices for data serving, integration, and automation.
• Tech stack: BigQuery, Bigtable, Dataflow, Airflow, Apache  Spark, Terraform, Kafka, Pub/Sub, Redis, GCS, Data Catalog/Lineage frameworks, DBT, Golang, Python, Java

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of industry experience building data and data warehouse strategy.
• 2+ years of management experience leading and managing high performing engineering organizations.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience at a fast paced startup environment.
• Deep experience with GCP
• Experience in AdTech
• Familiarity with data processing for ML
