POSITION SUMMARY 

The AR Specialist is responsible for overseeing billing operations and processes. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Creating insurance invoices/payments by running Smartconnect Heavy Data entry, entering ACH payments in Excel using remits from various insurance payors 

  • Calling insurance providers to retrieve remittance advice/EOBs 

  • Work with other teams to ensure correct billing and to resolve unapplied payments on customer accounts 

  • Field billing phone calls, answer any questions from patients, collections 

  • Creating debit memo/credit memo for insurance retractions and resolve any discrepancies Process payments through MESVT, process refunds as necessary 

  • Professionally handle access to HIPAA information 

  • Special projects as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High School diploma (or equivalent) required. 

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) preferred. 

  • Experience with communicating with patients and insurance companies 

  • Experience with billing insurance claims preferred (such as ICD-10 and Diagnosis code) 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Attention to detail High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) required 

  • High degree of integrity including ability to successfully handle sensitive or confidential information 

  • Displays a high level of accuracy 

  • Ability to learn quickly and complete ownership of area of responsibility. 

  • Comfortable and willing to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Strong organization, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to be a team player. 

  • Ability to communicate about financial aspects of highly sensitive testing with patients, clinics and CFS

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
