The Role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing Corporate Accounting team at Nex. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and wants to help build a disciplined and scalable accounting foundation as Nex expands across multiple channels and global markets.

You will own critical areas of the monthly close, lead complex reconciliations, and help establish strong accounting policies, controls, and reporting processes. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a continuous improvement mindset.

You’ll partner closely with FinOps, Supply Chain, Fulfillment, and Business Systems to ensure data integrity and audit readiness, while driving process automation and cross-functional alignment as the company scales.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the month-end close for assigned areas (hardware revenue, payment deductions, COGS, and inventory), ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain and improve DTC revenue recognition models in compliance with ASC 606, including identification of performance obligations and allocation methodologies.
  • Oversee reconciliation of wholesale revenue, payment deductions, and chargebacks across all B2B partners.
  • Manage COGS and inventory reconciliations across multiple 3PLs and ensure correct cutoffs.
  • Analyze hardware margins, ensuring proper classification between COGS and OPEX and supporting margin analysis.
  • Develop and maintain standardized Order-to-Cash (OTC), revenue recognition, and inventory accounting workflows, SOPs, and GL mapping to support new business initiatives.
  • Prepare audit-ready schedules and documentation; manage audit requests for owned areas and ensure timely responses.
  • Identify and lead improvements to accounting systems and data flows using Excel, Power Query, and automation tools to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FinOps, Supply Chain, and Fulfillment to validate accounting data flows and ensure consistent treatment across systems.
  • Support implementation and optimization of ERP and operational systems as the company grows.

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within consumer electronics, e-commerce, or hardware businesses.
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with emphasis on revenue recognition, inventory, and COGS accounting.
  • Advanced Excel and Power Query skills with ability to analyze and reconcile large data sets.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred). Experience with accounting software systems such as Blackline and FloQast is a bonus. Familiarity with Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, and WMS platforms is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting system implementation or process automation is a plus and highly valued.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ability to work independently, ownership mentality, and ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying ASC 606 for multi-channel businesses (DTC, wholesale, and distribution).
  • Exposure to cost accounting in hardware or physical goods environments.
  • Prior experience managing or preparing for external audits in a high-growth company.
  • Demonstrated track record of process improvement and building scalable accounting operations.

We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Flexible working hours and vacation policy.
  • Product-driven culture that treasures talents and individual growth.
  • Front-row seat and hands-on experience with cutting edge technologies in the evolving gaming field
