The Role
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate 3D Animator to join our team. In this role, you will bring characters, creatures, and objects to life through expressive, high-quality animation that supports gameplay, storytelling, and player immersion. You will work closely with designers, artists, and engineers to create animations that feel responsive, believable, and fun to play. This role requires both strong artistic fundamentals and an understanding of real-time game constraints.
What You'll Do
- Create high-quality animations for characters, creatures, and objects across gameplay, cinematics, and in-engine sequences
- Animate locomotion, combat, traversal, interactions, and performance-based sequences
- Implement and polish animations in-game using the studio's engine and tools
- Work within animation systems such as state machines, blend trees, and animation graphs
- Iterate on animations based on playtesting, feedback, and performance requirements
- Add secondary motion using Unity tools like spring-bone hair, dynamic cloth, and jiggle physics
- Optimize animations for performance, memory, and real-time constraints
- Maintain consistency with the game's visual style and animation standards
- Design simple, effective animations for background elements
- Explore motion capture solutions such as Xsens, Perception Neuron, Rokoko, and Move.ai
- Take initiative, stay proactive, and share innovative ideas with the team
Pluses
- Experience performing in-character acting in front of a camera to create animation reference
- Motion capture animation experience (recording, cleanup, retargeting)
- Shipped titles on console or mobile platforms
- Experience with cutscenes or cinematic sequences
- A sense of humor
