Media Operations Associate (External Agency Staff)

The NFL Digital Media group is seeking a Media Operations Associate to assist with supporting various platforms at NFL Media including: NFL.com, NFL app, NFL Fantasy, and Clubs Sites. The primary responsibility of this person is to manage the ingestion and delivery of video assets into the media asset management system, including validation of quality, meta data, and completeness.  This person will be expected to immerse themselves within the details of all digital products and become a communication hub for operational activities. The role will report directly to the Director of VOD Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the uptime and functionality of the media asset archive.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of video assets to NFL+, NFL Fast, and all syndication partners
  • Ensure the integrity of video workflows, transcoding workflows, and meta data enrichment workflows
  • Ensure the Operations teams are ready with the resources, information and processes required to support new products (training, run-books, documentation, resolution paths, FAQs, etc)
  • Manage operational executions for live digital streaming shows on NFL O&O platforms (NFL app for mobile/tablet/CTV, Fantasy app, and web browsers)
  • Use admin tool to support digital content programming, editorial and League stakeholders, as well as administration and maintenance of active NFL.com properties
  • Provide operational support for our digital O&O apps on all gamedays and around League tentpole events, including reporting and prioritization of issues.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Understanding of video archiving systems
  • Understanding of digital video ingestion, delivery, streaming, transcoding
  • Understanding of meta data schemas, media specifications, timely delivery of content
  • Understanding video quality, clipping, and post production workflows
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and programs
  • Excellent problem-solving ability; highly motivated to drive positive change
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excels collaborating with teams
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast pace environment
  • Must be able to work all NFL Game Days, including Preseason, Regular Season and Playoffs, in-office.
  • Must be able to work on holidays (e.g. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, New Year's).
  • Strong knowledge of sports and digital sports products

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in business, marketing, communications, computer science, or related field is preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience coordinating and supporting digital products in a sports entertainment, digital, media or related industry
  • Prior experience with Live event support
  • Prior experience with Media Asset Management Systems (MAM)
  • Prior experience with video playback, encoding, streaming, and delivery
  • Prior experience with Content Management Systems (CMS)

  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Avid interest and knowledge of NFL football

 

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • 32 hours per week
  • Must be flexible to work weekends (specifically Sundays in-season)
  • Must be able to work all NFL Game Days, including Preseason, Regular Season and Playoffs, in-office.
  • Must be able to work on holidays (e.g. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, New Year's).
  • Required to work from Inglewood, CA office
  • This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL’s third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency.

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. 

 

Salary

$25 - $30 USD
