Overview /Objective:

The NFL Network Real-Time Graphics Department is seeking a Seasonal Real-Time Artist to support our live studio productions, including RedZone, Gameday Morning, RedZone OT, and more. This is a seasonal opportunity for a technically skilled individual to contribute to high-profile broadcasts in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This role is focused on the technical implementation of real-time graphics using Unreal Engine and VizRT. The Seasonal Real-Time Artist will work closely with Graphics and Production teams to integrate provided designs and requests into our virtual sets and augmented reality graphics systems, ensuring smooth and accurate execution during live broadcasts.

This is a unique opportunity to deepen your real-time graphics skills in a live broadcast environment, working alongside experienced professionals and cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Utilize Unreal Engine to produce real-time graphics for virtual sets and augmented studio graphics (AR)
  • Work closely with producers to create client sponsorships.
  • Oversee and support the airing of real-time graphics during live broadcasts.
  • Build out and help produce stage integrated sponsorships. Responsibilities will include.
    • Integrating client artwork into the system of stage monitors.
    • Build out Augmented integrations and provide any visual or technical feedback.
    • Working with lighting to develop the clients look on stage.
    • Work closely with producers to provide feedback or visual samples to sales for client review.
  • Virtual sets and Augmented Reality Graphics
    • Understand and be able to troubleshoot the entire virtual set and AR pipeline. This includes camera tracking, rendering machines and control software.
    • Startup and guarantee operation of the virtual set and AR for the show.
    • Build out virtual set and augmented graphics requests for things like seasonal decor or other changes to the set.
  • Contribute to the development of and support of broader real-time graphics workflows within the department
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and test new features or enhancements

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficient in Unreal Engine (lighting, materials, and level building)
  • Advanced understanding of Unreal Engine Blueprinting
  • Working knowledge of VizRT (especially Viz Artist); proficiency is a strong plus
  • Experience with camera tracking systems
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and texturing, particularly Cinema 4D
  • Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience in television broadcast production is strongly preferred
  • Ability to learn new systems and ask questions.

Travel:

  • Possible but unlikely travel to NFL events (Games, Super Bowl, Combine, Draft) as well as to vendors.

Terms /Expected Hours of Work:

  • Up to 7-month employment period, 40 hours/week expected.
    • 7-month employment is not guaranteed and may be impacted by business needs.
    • The Media Design Group will be as communicative as possible about the duration of your employment period and provide notice of your end date at least a week in advance, with all efforts being made to provide as much notice as possible.
  • Flexible schedule is a must including weekends, holidays, early mornings (most regularly Sunday mornings) and late nights.
  • Limited overtime is possible.

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. 

 

 

Salary

$42 - $47 USD
