Seasonal News Segment Producer
The NFL is seeking a dynamic and experienced Seasonal News Segment Producer to join the team behind The Insiders. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in producing daily show segments, breaking news updates, and live content across linear and digital platforms. This position requires sharp editorial judgment, strong control room experience, and deep NFL knowledge. You’ll collaborate closely with producers, talent, and technical teams to help shape the show’s voice and deliver timely, accurate, and engaging football coverage throughout the season.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will produce segments daily for ‘’The Insiders’’ show always meeting deadline
- Report directly to the Producer/Coordinating Producer helping to execute their vision for the show
- You’ll be expected to produce and write editorially accurate news updates and breaking news for linear and digital platforms
- You are experienced in a control room setting and can collaborate with directors and technical teams during live and taped segments
- You understand how a newsroom assignment desk operates and are able to work with editors and desk assistants under pressure meeting deadlines
- You have significant experience gathering news and know who to contact to verify accuracy
- You’re able to serve as an editorial resource for content producers and on-air talent by verifying and sharing information quickly, efficiently, and accurately
- You know how to communicate directly with newsroom management and senior leaders and hold yourself accountable for your editorial decisions
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in newsgathering and live production with television/digital news or a comparable sports news organization
- Must demonstrate excellent breaking news instincts and a deep passion for delivering accurate and timely news coverage.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with on-air talent and technical crews
- Possess strong production skills in a live control room environment while being able to make editorial decisions during stressful live broadcast situations.
- Proven experience building rundowns and leading control room execution
- Keen editorial judgement and awareness. You must have in-depth knowledge of football and the National Football League
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong football knowledge and awareness of NFL events and stories, ability to quickly identify players and coaches
- Must possess strong command skills and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with live remote production and studio operations
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Understanding of digital/social media and integration in broadcast
- Ability to manage and develop junior staff
Terms / Expected Hours of Work
- Seasonal, full-time position up to 7 months
- On-site, including holidays and weekends during NFL season
- May involve extended hours during playoffs, training camp, draft, and other tentpole events
Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
Salary
$1,500 - $2,250 USD

This role requires onsite presence at an NFL office or stadium location, and remote and/or hybrid working options are not offered.
