Music Licensing Associate

Works under the Director, Music Administration & Supervision in the Music Licensing department for the NFL.

  • Works closely with and assists Clearance coordinators with the licensing of commercial music used in NFL Media programming (NFL Films, NFL Network, NFL Digital Media and Marketing).
  • There is also a high emphasis on tracking, reviewing and processing all licensing agreements, setting up new vendors, creating requisitions and P.O.s. tracking payments & licenses through the entire process to full execution. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and processing all music licensing paperwork for departments across the NFL ecosystem, including but not limited to NFL Films, NFL Media LA, Events, International & Marketing
  • This coordinator requests licenses and invoices for acquired/cleared songs and handles payment processing for negotiated Production Music Library Deals.
  • Works with legal in NY to ensure language, terms, media and fees are all correct and aligned and compliant with NFL policy and/or the creation of boiler-plate agreements. Review and revisions of licensing agreements between parties, as necessary.
  • Works closely with Project managers and finance to create requisitions and P.O.s for any music used across NJ/LA/NY facilities.
  • Follows up on outstanding agreements and invoices (updating project managers and databases accordingly). 
  • Directs and walks potential new vendors through the set-up process in our internal vendor system, liaising with AP department to support all vendors, POs and Requisitions.
  • Acts as the vendor contact for any issues, changes and or payment questions.
  • Processes licenses and invoices through our CLM system for reviews and signatures
  • Following up with vendors on payment statuses across NFL facilities
  • Ensures delivery of fully executed licenses to partners, networks, and project managers as contractually obligated.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree – preferable in music related studies/Music Business/Finance.

Experience with Music Publishing, labels, DISCO, current music trends, EXCEL, Word, various music databases and familiarity with music laws, union and related issues.  Finance background or skills with payment processes are also highly valued.

Other Key Attributes / Characteristics:

Attention to detail is a must. Has an independent work ethic though still able to work well within a team.  We are looking for a conscientious and trustworthy candidate who knows the business and who can contribute in a meaningful way.   Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of data in an organized fashion is crucial.  Knowledge of a variety of music genres is helpful.
